You can always count on for a display of unadulterated formal femininity. Like a waft of perfume, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig's elegant gowns slink down the runway each season offering a display of extreme glamor. Soon after each collection debuts, the same dresses drape over Hollywood's leading ladies on red carpets around the world.

For the shows, the beauty must never compete, but cannot be so subtle as to seem casual next to the evening gowns. To create the stunning hair and makeup that complemented Fall 2017's Chinese-inspired sheaths, Marchesa turned to MOROCCANOIL and M·A·C.

"Today we are inspired by Imperial China-all the silks and the color palette; there are lots of gorgeous reds, pinks, lime greens and saturated mustards," said senior M·A·C artist Caroline Hernandez. Backstage, Hernandez explained her steps to achieve this blushing look.

1. For the beauty, Hernandez used skincare as illuminizer. She used Omoressence and, when the girls needed it, a cold cream that's incredibly thick.

2. Hernandez did everything with her fingers. Depending on the skin tone, she used a variation of pinkish wine colors on the cheek and all through to the top and bottom lid. As well as the same color very light on the mouth with a bit of Lipglass.

3. She applied mascara on just the top lashes.

4. The brows were groomed and filled in where need be.

"There's something really nice about working with your fingers in pink," reflected Hernandez. "It's very nice and light. It's been so long since cheeks have been in."

"To juxtapose the womanly, sensual feel of Marchesa's aesthetic, MOROCCANOIL Global Ambassador Antonio Corral Calero created a look that exudes romanticism and naivety. The intricacy and attention to detail that Marchesa is known for seamlessly lends itself to the knotted chignon and floral integration, not making the hair an accessory but rather, a vital part of the final look."

1. Prep hair by applying two pumps of MOROCCANOIL Treatment from mid-length to the ends to set the perfect foundation for styling.

2. Apply one pump of MOROCCANOIL Smoothing Lotion throughout the hair to add hydration and control.

3. Mist MOROCCANOIL Dry Texture Spray to provide the foundational grip and texturized hold with a dry, gritty finish.

"This Dry Texture Spray is great because it gives you grip," explained Calero. "When you combine it with MORROCANOIL, it looks more natural-like hair you slept on for a couple of days."

4. Using your finger, create an imperfect left side part, allowing little baby hairs to sweep across the forehead without being too symmetrical or well placed. Sweep back hair form above the ears up to your crown, leaving the remaining bottom half of your hair down.

5. With the top half of your hair, split into two sections a create a knot using both pieces. Split the remaining bottom half of your hair at the nape into two sections and interlock each side by creating a knot with the existing knot at the crown.

"Ones with shorter hair, we do an undone twist, just bend and fold like a cascade," said Calero. "It's emulating like she did it herself. It's appealing and sexy in a young way, with the texture and the flies away."

6. Next, sweep any loose hair around the bun, allowing random pieces to drop naturally over the knotted chignon, pinning a few pieces sporadically among them.

7. To finish, retouch the left side part using the tip of your fingers with MOROCCANOIL Smoothing Lotion for definition. Mist with MOROCCANOIL Luminous Hairspray Strong for a smooth and shiny finish.

"It's important that we inspire the real woman and translate to the salons as well. You need to customize it and make it your own," encouraged Calero.
