Ashley & Lance’s Rainy Central Park Engagement Shoot

Morning my loves!  Just how romantic is today’s engagement shoot? It doesn’t get more soppy than kissing in the rain in Central Park!  Far from putting a dampener on these two love birds spirits, they made the most of the opportunity to snuggle under umbrellas and dance in the rain!  Ashley’s pretty coral dress adds the perfect splash of colour to their photos, from JKB Young Photography.

Here’s Ashley with their story ~

In 2011 Lance was visiting Penn Law from Utah one weekend and decided to stay an extra day to attend church meetings. We happened to sit next to each other and about 30 minutes into the meeting I heard a slight snore to my left…Lance had fallen asleep! After the meeting I broke the ice by teasing him about falling asleep. Our church was having a pot luck dinner at our bishops house so I offered to give a few people rides, and made sure Lance was one of them. By the end of the night I had a few girls at church asking me all about Lance and his situation– so before I dropped him off I used that as an excuse to snag his number. The next day Lance headed back to Utah. We kept in contact for the next few months and Lance informed me that was accepted to Penn Law and would be attending there in the fall. Lance and I casually dated for a few months when he first arrived, but in January due to certain circumstances we decided to just remain friends. Ten months later, in October we decided to start dating again…and the rest…well!

About six months after we had started dating for the second time around Lance and I had gone out to dinner to celebrate. After dinner we went for a long walk by a secluded creek. After a while Lance stopped me and started to quote something from Great Expectations to me. “And now, Dear (Ashley), if you can tell me that you will go through the world with me, you will surely make it a better world for me, and me a better man for it, and I will try hard to make it a better world for you.” He then took me by the hand and bent down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I had no idea this was going to happen–We had never even talked about marriage! The first thing I did was ask him if he asked my father for his permission. He had! I was in a complete dream like state….after a few moments of realizing that I wasn’t dreaming, I said yes!

Our wedding planning has been fantastic! We are excited for our 1950s inspired vintage wedding that is coming up soon!
