Whimsical Animal-Inspired Wedding: Marie + Bruce

Marie + Bruce are true creatives at heart. They play in a band together - Freedom Fry – and have amazing style. So when the time came to start planning + designing their Los Angeles wedding, they naturally included unique + creative details galore, with a whimsical, animal-inspired undertone. Their idea of a perfect wedding day was one that was intimate + unfussy. Above all, they wanted to spend lots of quality time with their closest family  + friends in a setting where everyone would simply have a great time. This meant lighthearted details like a playful recessional song (that included percussions + a ukulele!) and super fun animal masks for their guests to wear at the reception!

Big thanks to Heather Kincaid for the beautiful photography and congratulations to Marie + Bruce on a gorgeous + fun day!

Marie wore a stunning, flowy Alexander McQueen gown and a custom-made cape she designed herself with gold Jimmy Choo shoes. Love everything about her look!

I can think of many moments. The whole ceremony was very special to us. We're both musicians and so are a lot of our friends and family so we had all our groomsmen and bridesmaids sing and play instruments which made it very unique. Our Recessional song was actually sung by the groomsmen and bridesmaids as we all came out of the chapel two by two. My father's speech (Eric Seyrat) was another great moment. He worked on it for months so it built up the anticipation and ended up being just perfect with his famous sense of humor, but also very emotional. All delivered sweetly with his French accent.

Marie designed the bridesmaid’s dresses + groomsmen’s shirts from a gorgeous fabric she found in Paris. They were then custom-made by a seamstress. I love how the bridesmaids each wore a different silhouette  – such a cute, thoughtful detail.

The reception decor was completely inspired by animals – with table names like “In the Jungle” and centerpieces the couple handmade by fixing spray-painted animal figurines to slices of tree trunks they cut themselves.

Love their cake + cake-topper, too!

Don't expect perfection or you'll pull your hair out all day and night. Just try to have fun yourself on the day of.
