Classic Elegant Pink Wedding

Classic Elegant Pink Wedding

Amanda and Damian tied the knot back in August, they envisioned a summers day which was vintage, classic and elegant. They opted for a dusky pink colour scheme, with the bridesmaids in Phase Eight dresses and the prettiest rose and peony flowers.

Amanda looked breathtaking in a lace Amanda Wyatt dress with her hair in a chic up do and Damian donned a navy blue Hugo Boss suit with polka dot tie. Oh and keep an eye out for the most scrumptious looking wedding cake.

Thanks so much to Anna Hardy for sharing her beautiful photography with us today.

The Proposal… THE BEST PROPOSAL EVER! The evening started with a 3 course lobster meal with champagne overlooking the sea. It was perfect. Damian then suggested that we go to watch the entertainment for the evening which was the perfect couples show. We sat at the front and watched the show which was very cheesy, but very funny. Half way through the compare needed a volunteer, to which Damian was picked out, he asked for romantic music to be played and Damian was handed the boards. Now the song playing was our song Love Story by Taylor Swift. As soon as it came on I burst in to tears! The boards were printed with ‘Our Love Story’ – they then go on to explain how we met two years ago, that I picked him rather than GQ models (as you find a lot of them around Sutton)and a collage of all the different things we have done together. It ends with ‘Like all the best love stories I hope this one is never-ending – So Amanda Lianne Burkinshaw – Will You…’ Damian then put the boards on the floor of the stage, walks down the stairs, kisses me, falls to one knee and asks me to marry him. I instantly say ‘YES’ and am nodding like the churchhill dog. The compare announces it over the mic and the whole resort are cheering. It was the most magical moment. Damian puts on the ring, which is the most stunning thing I have ever seen, and I jump up into his arms. There is one last board that is being held up on stage which says ‘To be continued…’

The Vision for the Day… Vintage, summer, classic, elegant.

The Planning Process… Very long and arduous. We knew we wanted to get married in Abersoch – so once we found our venue everything else fell into place. I knew I wanted a lace dress and Damian wanted to wear a navy suit so I figured dusty pink would look nice with that. We then spent hours trawling round wedding fairs and looking in magazines for things we wanted.

The Venue… Bron Eifion Country House Hotel Criccieth

The Dress + Accessories… Amanda Wyatt – Anoushka (English Rose collection). Shoes were from the internet, I wanted low heal and simple so they were perfect. Underwear was from a great shop online, I had a bask which was a really low back which I needed due to the back of the dress being so low. The bridal lingerie shop online. Geraldine was fantastic. Hair clip – monsoon. Something blue – my garter from etsy.

Finding the Dress… Last dress in the very last shop I tried on. We all cried… it was so me! Definitely the ONE!!!

Groom’s Attire… Dark Navy Blue Hugo Boss suit.

The Readings + Music… A lovely love story by Edward Monkton. Corinthians – you know the one!!! Be thou my vision and give me joy in my heart.

Beautiful Bridesmaids… Phase eight dusty pink dresses.

The Flowers… All done by the wonderful CheriBlue. I just showed her what I wanted and left the rest up to her. Carol was amazing.

The Cake… Wonderful Petal-a-pot in Abersoch – I sent her and email with they picture and she did it perfectly. I bought and decorated the peg people separately.

Your Photographer… The wonderful Anna Hardy.

The Details + Decor… All cheriblue: Again I told her what I would like and she grasped our concept perfectly. I gave her a box of stuff I had collected and she added those in where she thought was best.

The Honeymoon… Jamaica – Secrets St James – wonderful gave us just the relaxing break we needed with lots of love and cocktails thrown in!

Memorable Moments… Seeing Damian as I walked down the aisle, meeting everyone after the ceremony on the green, going  on the beach having photos taken, dancing to usher ‘yeah’ with my dad!!!

Advice for Other Couples…  It truly is the best day ever and all the stress is TOTALLY worth it.
