3D Paper Star Box

3D Paper Star Box

via

We love 3D paper boxes here in Handimania and we've featured a few of them already on our website. You may have seen this cute and simple Paper Pyramid Gift Box, Square Pillow Gift Box (with a movie tutorial made by us) or these two creations from "Minieco" - 3D Paper Diamonds and Heart Shaped Box. Since we love paper craft, there's never enough of it and that's why we've got another take on the subject - 3D Paper Star Box.

The original tutorial was in Romanian, so, as usual, we've decided to prepare English version for your convenience. As you can see on the pictures, 3D Paper Star Box seems to be perfect for tiny sweets but you can use it for any small gifts, the only limit is the size of the box opening.

If you loved the idea and would like to see a video tutorial for it, please let us know on our facebook page. We'll gladly do it for you!

What you need:

First, draw a pentagon that will be used as a template (to see animated method of construction go here or here) and cut it out. Use thick paper in case you want to make more boxes. Now, using your template, draw two pentagons that share the same side. Remember to leave some margin around the pentagon for wings (they are essential for sticking both parts together). You can already draw a star inside, by connecting alternate vertices of a pentagon. For the best effect, draw lines from middle points of pentagon sides to points where star sides intersect. They will be used in forming the sides of the box.

Glue two parts together (leave one side for an opening). Remember to score every line with an empty pen (except for the ones that are inside the stars)

At the end, form the sides of the box using previously scored lines.

Your 3D Paper Star Box is ready to be filled with sweets or other tiny items!
