Manicure Monday: Neutral Gradient Nails

via

In our book, a bright pop of color goes a long way. We love a bold lip or a flashy mani, but some of us are just ready for springtime (whether or not it's ready for us). And with that comes daydreams of soft pink blossoms on trees, floral-printed sundresses, blue skies and fluffy clouds. And what goes better with the pastels of spring than a light, bright neutral manicure? Rather than just painting onto your nails and calling it a day, we've got a fun spin for you. This neutral gradient manicure is a subtle yet stylish look that will pair nicely with all your pastels for this season - as well as anything else in your spring wardrobe. It doesn't hurt that it's incredibly easy to re-create yourself.

Supplies

A base coat

5 neutral nail polishes with the same sheen. We used:

Directions

1. Choose your array of colors. This is by far the most difficult part. The trick will be finding five polishes in the same sheen. It won't look quite right if some of the polishes are creamy and some have a shimmer. Line them up in order and look to make sure it's a gradual transition from light to dark

2. Paint your nails. Start with a base coat like , and let it dry well. Then paint each nail in the order you've selected. We chose to start with the lightest color on the thumb, but you can go from light to dark or dark to light. Either way will look great.
