Locally Sourced Countryside Wedding in Kent with Manolo Blahnik Shoes | Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

We are back in the glorious English countryside today following yesterday's gorgeous London wedding celebrations.

WWW readers Caroline and Richard married on a beautiful summers day at Boughton Monchelsea Place, Kent followed by a marquee reception. They envisioned a relaxed and informal day which was also locally sourced.

The pretty blooms and delicious food were both locally sourced along with some of the décor choices. They also had the sweetest little flowergirls and page boys. Caroline looked so lovely in her simple lace dress and striking blue Manolo Blahnik shoes. Swoon.

Thanks so very much to the wonderful Kerry Ann Duffy Photography for sharing her photographs today.

The Vision for the Day... We wanted a relaxed and informal day that embraced the countryside we lived in and so we set about sourcing everything locally. We were so lucky to find Nicci Gurr from Home Gurr'own catering and she guided us through everything to achieve our dream wedding from the invitations, to the florist, our fabulous photographer Kerry Anne Duffy, local booze for the bar, and a fabulous clear ceiling marquee so we could dance under the stars.

The Flowers... We wanted all local and seasonal flowers and our local florist Blooming Green did a fantastic job at meeting our requirement. My only request was for some blue flowers in the bouquet to match my shoes. Then Nicci Gurr, our caterer let us pick wild flowers from her smallholding for the tables, so only seasonal and blooming local flowers adorned our tables, they were perfect.

The Cake... We wanted a cake that people would enjoy eating as much as looking at and keeping in line with the rustic theme and our love our chocolate, we decided on a tiered flake chocolate cake presented on a round of wood from our local log man Jonathan. Both my sisters are fabulous bakers and my eldest sister Claire was a pastry chef in a Michelin star restaurant and they agreed to create our dream cake - served as the desert with fresh local berries and Simply Ice cream from Kent, it was perfect!

The Honeymoon... Our wonderful friend Debs from Roar Africa planned the perfect trip for us and once we gave our brief to Debs, we didn't have to think about another thing. We went on Safari in the Masai Mara - being lucky enough to coincide with Migration Season and being in the best spots to make the most of that, and then had some beach and ocean time on Vamizi, an unspoilt and relatively untouched island paradise off the coast off Mozambique, it was the trip of a lifetime!
