I am full of the joys of summer today and as such it is the inspiration behind my summer yellow gingham wedding ideas. I always feel that gingham gets a bad wrap and although originally gingham was thought to be striped when it first appeared in the UK, it is the checkered pattern that we often recognise.

Gingham also has some serious fashion style status that is often forgotten, such as Bridget Bardot wearing a pink gingham dress on her wedding day. To me gingham is just like to smell of summer, the pattern just transforms me to long summer days, picnicing and being surrounded by family. It is these memories and the ambience of a true family outting, that makes gingham a perfect choice for an informal summer wedding.

The gingham truelist in me, does associate the above with the red gingham, but yellow gingham has a softer tone to it allowing it to be easily tailored to a summer destination wedding.
