Mary and Dan's seaside wedding is the perfect wedding for a Friday morning. Relaxed, fun and full of happy, smiley people.

Being a West Country boy, Dan wanted to get married in Devon and the lovely pair chose Tunnels Beaches as their venue.

It looks amazing - there's a private beach, you can have your ceremony on the terrace overlooking the ocean and Mary and Dan lucked out with a glorious sunset while their guests began to dance the night away.

I love Mary's candy coloured bouquet and her red lip and nails combo - both add a wonderful sense of fun to the day, as does Dan's baby blue suit and trendy brogues.

Mary The Bride:My dress was Diana by Enzoani. I hadn't planned on having a big frock and had originally looked at shorter 50′s dresses. When I started trying them on, however, I got the whole bride thing and ended up with a mahoosive train!

My engagement ring originally belonged to my Great Auntie Eileen and my lovely friend Zoe lent me her sapphire earrings and bracelet as my something borrowed and something blue. My shoes were Irregular Choice. I also had a back up pair of comfy platforms for dancing that I ended up being super-grateful for!!

The budget ran out for a headpiece so the florist put some flowers onto clips for me. I hadn't planned or practiced what we were going to do with them but on the day, our photographer Milda just kept saying "put more in" as my cousin was adding them to my hair and they ended up being one of my favourite things about my outfit!

I LOVED our flowers, the florist Kelly from Offshore Blooms did such a beautiful job and I felt like we got a lot for our money. We had peonies, roses and ranunculas. We collected blue and green antique glass bottles for the tables.

Dan is from Devon and very proud of being West Country so we wanted very much to get married there. We went to view the venue and just as we were leaving, the realisation sunk in that we had just booked our wedding, I had a feeling of absolute excitement, joy and giddiness that I am getting a bit emotional about just remembering!

The staff at Tunnels Beaches could not have been more wonderful and Josh, the gentleman who co-ordinated everything was fantastic. They really think of everything and make things run so smoothly. One of our guests is the manager of a very smart London restaurant and she was raving about how right they managed to get everything with the exact balance between the laid back feel we wanted and making sure everything went like clockwork.

The venue was so gorgeous that we didn't need to do much. I definitely didn't want a colour scheme so we just went with multi coloured ribbons and windmills on the backs of the chairs and on the pagoda.

On the morning of the wedding I went down with Dan, our best man Ollie and my lovely friends Lisa and Hester to set it all up. There were severe weather warnings and it was cloudy and overcast, pretty grey and spotting with rain and Josh said that he thought we might need to prepare for an indoor ceremony. The interior of the venue is lovely but we really wanted outdoor and luckily, just as I arrived the sun came out and did its best for the rest of the day. We were treated to a spectacular sunset.

All of the catering was done by the Tunnels team and it was absolutely gorgeous. We had a barbeque with mackerel with a chilli salsa, leg of lamb, monkfish and tiger prawn skewers, red onion and goats cheese tart, lovely salads and breads. Later on in the evening we had a gourmet pasty selection as they are Dan's number one top favourite food of all time. I ate serious amount of food and this is not advisable in a corset as when the food hits your stomach 20 mins after scoffing, those things do NOT expand!

I had three Bridesmaids, our niece Ellie who was 11, my cousins daughter Matilda who was 13 and my goddaughter Jessica who was 15. They wore Jack Wills sun dresses, white Toms and we gave them all a Thomas Sabo charm bracelet with seaside themed charms as a present.

Dan's suit was by Hugo Boss, his shirt was Paul Smith and his shoes were from Grenson. His bowtie and pocket square was from Speaklouder on Etsy. A month or two before our wedding, the Muppet movie came out and Dan's sister called to point out that Walter the main character was wearing almost the same outfit as Dan! We are both huge Muppet fans and this shared love was one of the reasons I though Dan was the one for me. We signed the register to Kermit and Miss Piggy singing The Rainbow Connection Song.

We had the best wedding band EVER! The Reacharounds. They do rock/metal covers of 80′s classics like Fame, Rasputin, Spandau Ballet's Gold and Killer by Seal. They travelled all the way from Bristol and stayed at a camp site in Ilfracombe. They are such lovely chaps and even dressed up as pirates for us. What more could you want?

Music was really, really important to the whole day. Dan did a play list and I walked down the aisle to the Velvet Underground and Nico's I'm Sticking with You. We had some Edith Piaf (Mums favourite), Elbow and Piggy and Kermit while we signed the register and we did our first dance to I Really Wish That I Could See You Soon by Herman Dune as our first dance (you should definitely practice a bit, and probably drink a bit too).

For our readings we had Dan's sister Amanda read the John Cooper Clarke poem I Wanna Be Yours, my brother Chris read The Velveteen Rabbit and my two best friends, the Vickys, who started infant school with me when we were four, read EE Cummings I Carry Your Heart With Me. Dan cried all the way through the ceremony and still maintains he just had "something in his eye). I thought I would be a blubberer, but the only time I really got teary was when the Vickys did their reading!

All of our friends and family were travelling from all over the UK and flying in from places as far flung as NYC so we really wanted to make the very most of having all the people we love in the same place all at one time place so we were quite greedy in wanting to have a whole weekend wedding. We rented a big house a two minute walk from the venue from Friday to Monday and had a whole weekend party.

On Friday night, as people arrived in Ilfracombe we invited them to come over for a drink. Dan cooked some big pots of chilli and we had lots of beer and wine and music. I already had my hair in curlers as I had to sleep in them overnight and it was really laid back with loads of people coming and going.

My friend Katy also came to the rescue with some amazing face scrub that saved me from spray tan disaster darling, although I was still a bit orange. The venue eventually kicked us out at 1am on the wedding night and the party headed up the hill to the house and we eventually went to bed at 5am with people still awake down stairs.

On Sunday, we got up to find that Dan's 16 year old nephew Jake had been a hero and cleaned the entire kitchen so we had invited everyone over for bacon and sausage sandwiches and scones with jam and cream and we watched the Wimbledon men's final with lost of people popping in and out again through out the day to re-live the day before and look at photos on phones and discuss the drunken antics of certain individuals.

Our photographer Milda was truly wonderful. I lost count of the number of guests who commented on how amazingly hard she worked and she was described as being "like a ninja" by one person! She somehow managed to capture little moments of the day that I would entirely have missed and I am so glad that we chose her. She has a really creative approach, was an absolute delight to have with us and even managed to get some great family shots with a minimum of fuss and maximum speed. When I was looking at photographers there seemed to be lots of very traditional options and all of the weddings I really admired were on American wedding blogs. When I saw Milda's photos she had that same dreamy quality that I liked.
