I love The Roof Gardens, it's one of those hidden spots that offers the perfect mix of city style with exotic greenery and escapism. Carole & Adrian fell in love with it straight away, and with just one wedding date left that year they planned their chic city celebration in just three months! With a glamorous black, white and hot pink palette inspired by the venue's famous Flamingo's, the bride wearing Jenny Packham's Eden and sparkly Jimmy Choo's, they celebrated with family & friends in true London style. Of course it's a pleasure to share their wedding, courtesy of b.loved fave Anushé Low.

We got engaged on New Years Eve 2011 in Dubai, on the Palm at the Sandance Beach Party: Adrian had planned to pop the question on a sunset boat trip in Boracay, Philippines but it ended up being on the way back at a stop over in Dubai. We then made the decision to go ahead and get married that year (by then it was 2012... the difference a few hours makes!) and started to seek out venues. We finally discovered Kensington Roof Gardens in late March - the only catch being that there was only one available date that year and that was in July so left a mere 3-months to plan everything! But it was simply perfect! It encapsulated everything we wanted for our wedding, the venue was grown up and glamorous, and, despite being in central London, there was no traffic noise and the exotic planting and the beautiful outside space reminded us of holidays, which inspired the stationery designs and table names! The informal and relaxed ambience of the venue gave us a sense of but, as it is also a nightclub, it ensured there was plenty of cocktails and champagne at the ready. My dress was Eden by Jenny Packham. It was grown up, glamorous and not traditional - completely different to what I had pictured myself wearing! I was expecting structure, a corset, it actually took another purchase and four visits to the dress shop for me to realise this was actually The Dress! I kept the accessories glamorous and simple, and customised my Jimmy Choo's with a red love heart. It was really important to make the day about us, who we are and our lives together. When choosing my dress and accessories I wanted pieces that reflected me. I chose peonies for my bouquet simply because I love them, and a friend did the ceremony flowers, buttonholes & bouquets. We chose readings that meant something to us, and reminded us of our childhood. The sparkling wine came from a family member's vineyard in Dorset, keeping things personal again. Alongside the 'holiday' theme, we loved that Kensington Roof Gardens is famous for it's flamingo's, so we had bespoke Flamingo invitations and favours to tie it all together. Overall, the vibe for the day was grown up glamour, fabulous flamingos and us! My only advice would be to make sure you keep true to you, and who you are. Music might not start at the right time, but nobody notices, and it all comes together. Make decisions and choices that reflect you, and you will have the day you always dreamt of.
