Interior-Inspired Parker Palm Springs Wedding: Sara + Sam

via

When we heard that Sara, the bride from today's stylish + Parker Palm Springs wedding, was the founder + owner of the online home décor boutique Lulu & Georgia, we had a pretty good feeling her + Sam's wedding would be good. Well, we're happy to report that 'good' is probably the understatement of the year - and in about 4 seconds when you begin scrolling through the post, you'll see for yourself why! Filled with color, texture, fun quirky finds, and beautiful styling, these two (with the help of Bustle EventsJL Designs) created a setting that not only incorporated their favorite items from Lulu & Georgia, but was oh-so reflective of their playful personalities, making it just right for them! A few quick words from Sara about the design:

People wouldn't necessarily think to turn to a home décor site for their wedding, but in fact, it's a great way to step away from traditional rentals and find some truly unique pieces that reflect your personal style.

So true, right?! A big thanks goes out to Studio Castillero for these super gorge images and congrats to Sara + Sam on the most beautiful day!

If you love their robes, wait 'til you see their Amsale bridesmaid dresses!

We love the watercolor-like palette of Sara's stunning bouquet!

Sara + Sam knew from the minute they started planning their wedding, that key pieces from Lulu & Georgia would act as a focal point of their décor. If we had access to that many beautiful things, you better believe we'd be doing the same! We couldn't be more in love with this layered rug aisle, and the reception was filled with the most fun interior objects + design elements, too!

Processional: Bridal Party: Loving Cup - Rolling Stones; Bride: I Will - The Beatles

Recessional: Love and Happiness - Al Green

First Dance: Just One Look - Doris Troy

We love that the tablescapes featured a fun mix of floral vessels, votives and decorative objects from Lulu & Georgia.

Textured pillows, Moroccan poufs, gorge florals, and lots of gold. We think it would be pretty impossible not to fall in love with this setting!

Instead of traditional advice, Sara shares some fun wedding décor tips with us!

* Forgo the traditional aisle runner in favor of layered rugs: As the third generation of a rug business, I of course had to incorporate my family's rugs into my wedding! Layering them down the aisle created a bohemian look while adding color and style - so much so, we didn't even need floral! The rugs down the aisle were original designs I created for Lulu & Georgia, but we used one of my grandfather's vintage Turkish rugs beneath the chuppah as a way to link the old and new.

* Create a dinner party ambience with tabletop décor: We wanted our reception to feel like an intimate dinner party; a glamorous yet relaxed environment where guests could mingle and linger. Instead of one large centerpiece, we used a variety of mixed floral containers combined with votives and decorative objects from Lulu & Georgia. These items, which included architectural vases and ceramic dogs, became conversation pieces.

* Set up lounge areas: Continuing with the dinner party vibe, we created two lounge areas surrounding the dance floor. Through the use of poufs, floor cushions, and big Moroccan rugs, the vignettes felt warm and inviting. And when the girls needed a break from dancing, they could sit down and still be part of the soiree!

* Accessorize with pillows: Pillows are an easy, inexpensive way to add a punch of color and style. Our wedding venue has a Moroccan couch that has seen better days. Rather than investing in a replacement, we styled it with gold, coral, and blush pillows, making it look brand new! We placed similar pillows in the hammocks during cocktail hour to tie two separate spaces together.

* Bring your home into your wedding: We wanted our wedding to feel intimate, both in size and décor. A great way to do that is by adding elements you might find in a home. Our guests were welcomed into the reception by a doormat adorned with the words "You and Me". It was a simple but whimsical way to set the mood for the party and show our guests what awaited inside. We also incorporated lanterns down the aisle for the ceremony. By minimizing the light, we created a backyard setting.
