French Lavender and Lemon Wedding Ideas

Before I start today's inspiration board, I want you to imagine that you are in the Provence countryside, the warm air on your skin, the gentle smell of lavender fills the air and the sound of cicada in the background. That is the inspiration behind today's French lavender and lemon wedding ideas that has been inspired by reader Joelle-Marie.

Joelle-Marie was born in France and is planning her upcoming wedding in the UK and is looking to combine English garden party with the essence of Provence.

It can be hard to plan a wedding style with multiple influences, but for this lavender and lemon wedding board, I have fused the influences of the traditional afternoon tea, but with the informal and relax country style, fitting of Provence.

When planning a wedding with two edible ingredients, why not have some fun and how about a lemon and lavender bar. Make traditional lemonade and serve this in oversize retro drinks dispensers with rustic jam jar glasses. Or make a lavender syrup and use this as an ingredient in a cocktail or combine the two for lavender lemonade, all the options sure to keep your guests hydrated and entertained, plus creating a visual display.

Living table centers and seating charts are one of my favourite reusable feats from a wedding. Find small lavender plans and display in super cute pots and use plant labels as the escort card. At the end of the wedding, offer them as a thank you to family members who helped during the wedding planning.

A small word about the shoes, you know that I LOVE fabulous shoes, so I had to include these wonderful soft lilac Vivienne Westwood shoes with lemon hearts on.

For the table design think informal Provencal lunch meets afternoon tea. Seat guests at rustic tables with smaller than required linens displaying the table beneath. The exposure of the table with bring about a less formal atmosphere than a traditional afternoon tea, complete with etiquette and extremely small sandwiches. Display fresh cut or dried lavender and don't forget lemons make a wonderful statement centerpiece.

Happy Planning Joelle-Marie!
