For this vibrant and romantic style shoot, Jan Ng of Willow Rose Events and Michelle Belsky of Magnolia Studios were inspired by the art on vintage cigar boxes. The duo wanted to express a romantic and old world elegance.

"Travel is a great source of inspiration for many people," explains Belsky. "Having been to Cuba many times, the idea of bringing rich, vibrant and beautifully varied Cuban elements into a styled shoot seemed unique and absolutely beautiful. Cuba is one of the most architecturally diverse cities in the world - a photographer's paradise with a 50′s influence, exuberant colours, traditional Spanish buildings and a soulful culture."

Ng and Belsky chose Graydon Hall Manor in Toronto as their venue. "Graydon Hall provided the perfect backdrop for us - with its wooden shutters and vintage checkered flooring," explains Ng.

To achieve their vision, the pair focused on a bold colour palette of red, bright coral, yellow, orange and muted gold. Ng and Belsky then incorporated a hand-painted cake, hand-painted stationery, and a sweet table inspired by the flavours of Cuba - rum, dulce de leche, coconut and agave - to bring their exotic theme to life.
