An Elegant Country House Wedding In Somerset.

via

Welcome to another week of gorgeous wedding inspiration - we hope you're feeling suitably refreshed after the weekend! How glorious is this Indian summer we appear to be having?!

So we begin with a visit to my favourite place - the West Country. Jackie and Lee married at the truly elegant Brympton House in Somerset. Their colour scheme was duck egg blue - which ALWAYS looks so, so pretty, and they filled their venue with blooms and candles. The result is lovely and definitely enough when you're surrounded by countryside and the decor of a stately home...

Just wait until you see the wood panelling, period furniture and spectacular fireplaces!

I love that Jackie describes the location of Brympton as serene, because that is exactly what comes across in the images from How Photograpy. And there's nothing wrong with a bit of serenity on Monday morning!!

Jackie the Bride:The dress I chose was the third out of about twenty that I tried on. I love it because it was really light, and I didn't feel restricted at all. As it was a column dress I chose a long veil so I had a train and floatyness

Lee the Groom:I chose Moss as they had a good selection, both for purchasing and for rental, they were flexible, professional and reasonably priced. (My suit was a Lanificio F.lli Cerruti Dal 1881).

Once we had our initial meeting at Brympton, there was really nowhere else we could have imagined having our wedding. The setting is stunning, set well back from any roads, you really are out on your own. It's quiet, almost serene...has a gorgeous lake and immaculate gardens. The house is Grade 1 listed and absolutely beautiful!

We chose a duck egg blue and natural colour scheme. We wanted to keep everything quite understated generally, but with bursts of colour dotted around the place, this worked really well. This continued from the flowers through to the bridesmaids dresses and the grooms accessories.

Most of the flowers, including all the decorations, the brides bouquet and buttonholes were done in house using Brympton's florist, they did an amazing job. The bridesmaids bouquets and the thank
you bouquets for the Mums/Grandmothers were done by a good friend of mine, Ash of Floral Fusion, Taunton. Again, he did an amazing job and totally deserves a mention!

The wedding party were all close family and friends. Each and every one of them went well out of their way to make sure everything went off without a hitch...they were spot on, speeches were amazing and they all looked fantastic!

Storm were our entertainment for the evening - a well established function band around Yeovil - they kept people up dancing all night like we knew they would!

The Lesser Known (an old band of Lee's and best friends) also played a short supporting slot for Storm, first time playing together for over 7 years - fantastic to be back behind the drums playing our old songs! Also the first time Jackie has seen us live! She loved it.

Dine With Style did an absolutely wonderful job with the food. We've had so many comments on how good it was we actually lost count! We had our tasting over a year ago, and could barely make up our minds then, but as it turned out, we think we made the right choices - and especially the right dessert (chocolate fondant) WOW!!

I have nothing but high praise for our photographers - Russ and Laura How. From the first meeting with Laura, we were completely at ease. They were punctual, professional, passionate and generally awesome for the whole day, and ever since through our millions of emails back and forth...

The 455 photographs we received are beautiful, we really couldn't be happier with them! We are recommending them for everything that requires a camera to anyone who asks! Thanks again guys!
