Roses & Daisies For An Elegant Surrey Hills Wedding.

Roses & Daisies For An Elegant Surrey Hills Wedding.

Welcome to another week of wedding inspiration lovelies. We hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are feeling energised and ready to go this Monday morning...

If not, don't worry, as this morning's elegant affair is sure to put a smile on your face.

Bride Leah sparkles in Eden by Jenny Packham and her maids look gorgeous in their silvery grey gowns. Letting the girls choose their own footwear was a great idea too - Bridesmaid with the hot pink pair?? I want your shoes.

James and his Groomsmen haven't scrubbed up badly either. Their suits in Navy blue complement the silvery toned maids perfectly.

And if you're a flower fan (and frankly, who isn't?!) this wedding is full of pink roses and pretty yellow daisies to swoon over and pretty pink rose lemonade makes the sweetest of favours...the perfect thank-you from the new Mr & Mrs Fentiman.

Leah the Bride:As soon as we got engaged I read Rock My Wedding religiously - it gave me so many ideas in terms of the look and feel we were going to go for, Pinterest was great for mood boards too.

I run the PR for Max Factor, so I approached our wedding organisation a little like I do with a press launch event! Sourcing amazing suppliers, ensuring we kept to our budget (as much as possible), planning out every small detail and writing a 'wedding event bible' for the day, were all things I do in my day-to-day job. That actually meant I didn't get particularly stressed in the lead up to the big day.

The one thing I knew I couldn't control however, was the weather. So when I woke up on Saturday morning, drew the curtains and saw beaming sunshine, I knew it was going to be perfect. My favourite memory out of the entire day was walking arm in arm with James (who is a creative at Freuds PR) out of St. James' Church to the sound of the wedding bells in glorious Shere, where The Holiday was filmed.

I found my dress on my first appointment, at Blackburn Bridal. I was certain I wanted something lace and fairly informal, however they suggested I tried Eden by Jenny Packham, just to see what it looked like, and I was blown away. What I loved about it the most was that it didn't look like a traditional wedding dress. It felt like a million dollars on, with the beautiful soft silk slip underneath the beaded tulle.

I paired that with Evelyn shoes by Jimmy Choo, some gorgeous Jenny Packham earrings and a very simple veil, to let the dress stand out. Jenny Packham had even sewn a little baby blue bow on the inside of the dress as my something blue, which is lucky as I'd forgotten to do the something old, borrowed, new and blue!

The bridesmaids dresses were all from the Reiss January sale and I also treated them to an Alex Monroe 'love' bracelet each as a thank-you. James' tailor made suit and shoes were also from Reiss and fit him so well he's worn them to every wedding since!

We got ready at The Percy Arms in Chilworth and I was lucky enough to have Max Factor make-up artist, Caroline Barnes do my make-up! Malin Coleman, her incredible assistant did my hair and they also treated my Mum and two sisters to a make-over too.

We then took Doug's White Wedding Taxi to St. James Church in Shere - that was our London touch for the day. Julia from Parsley & Rose arranged all of the flowers - I knew she would do a wonderful job. All of her suggestions were exactly what I had been picturing in my head - pretty, not too formal, with some wild flowers. She piled beautiful daisies into crates outside the church and decorated the tables with gorgeous vintage vases all different shapes and sizes. After the wedding I pressed some flowers from my bouquet as a keepsake.

We had our reception at Gate Street Barn in Bramley. It was the perfect relaxed country setting - a beautiful barn in the rolling Surrey hills. Our guests were treated to delicious canapés and a sit down dinner by Kalm Kitchen - we love how they present the food.

We're not big cake eaters and we love cheese, so we ordered a tiered cheese cake from The Cheese Shed. We also held a wine and cheese tasting night at our house with our family in the run up to the wedding, and then did a booze cruise to Majestic in Calais to stock up on all of the wedding wine - it was so easy to do and much cheaper.

Our photographer was Anneli Marinovich who we met at our friend's wedding. We loved her style so much that we booked her up as soon as we got engaged, to do ours. She was fantastic and captured the informal style we were looking for, perfectly.

In terms of the decorations, I bought loads of candles and jam jars from a friend who had previously got married. I wrapped them in lace that I bought of eBay and put long burning tea lights in the jam jars. For our table favours we bought Fentimans pink lemonade bottles - Fentimans is our surname and they also looked good with the pink in the flowers!

As we're both PR's, our table names were different magazines or newspapers. James cleverly designed the front pages, writing stories up of people sitting at each table. We were on Family Circle. James also worked with his designer to design the invites. I'd been inspired by an invite I'd seen online which was white with a pink reverse, so we adapted it, made it our own and then had them printed along with the other wedding stationary. It worked out much cheaper and also meant the design was personal to us.

Our sister's friend Brent is in a band, Brent & the Rhythm Kings - his band played at my sister's wedding and we were lucky enough that he could do ours. They definitely got everyone on the dance floor and played a brilliant rendition of 'I Will Wait' by Mumford & Sons for our first dance. We could have partied until the early hours, however it was probably a good thing it finished at midnight because we were straight off on an Ibiza 'mate moon' the next day with 10 friends, before jetting off to the Amalfi Coast on honeymoon.
