What did Santa leave in your stocking? What did Santa leave under the tree? Could it be a diamond? Could it be a shiny new ring? Could it be a proposal?

I love Christmas! I love the houses decorated so gaudily. I love the music. I love the food. I love the eggnog, especially the nog. I love the smells of Christmas: the cinnamon, cloves, pine and cedar. Most of all, I love all the newly engaged couples. This is an exciting time for all the families. Marriage brings so much hope just like Christmas.

Think about it: a baby born in a manger with straw for his bed and sharing his new home with the animals. Yet for those that heard about this tiny miracle, it symbolized hope for all. Shepherds left their flock to see the baby Jesus. Kings in true danger because they were considered heretics traveled great distances to bring gifts to this little child of God.

This little child that would grow into a man to teach us all how to live our lives and be better people. This little child that would lead us to the light of truth and hope and everlasting life. This little child that was sent to show us the way.

Yes, sometimes in the excitement of Christmas, we forget what Christmas is all about, the true meaning of Christmas. Take time from the hustle and bustle to reflect on God's love to us. Take time to reflect on the greatest gift of all, Jesus. Take time to kiss your children good night and tell your loved ones, "I Love You." Take time to reflect on the many blessings you have each and every day.

I have often been told to keep one piece of Christmas up year round in your home to keep the spirit alive. I confess that I have two pieces up year round, both nativity art. It is constant reminder to be more Christ like in everything I do. I walk with Christ on Christmas Day and everyday and I invite you to come along.

On this Christmas Eve as we prepare for his birth, I extend my warmest wishes from my family to your yours: may your Christmas be bright and may your home be full of love and hope! Merry Christmas to All! God Bless!
