Stylish and Colourful Beach Wedding in the Philippines

Stylish and Colourful Beach Wedding in the Philippines

via

Oh we've such a gorgeous real wedding to share with you today, all the way from the paradise island of Mactan in the Philippines.

Desi and Vincenzo came from their home in Italy, to celebrate their wedding day (and their daughter's baptism) with Desi's family's near Cebu in South East Asia.

Their bright, bohemian and beautifully styled beach wedding was captured by the talented team at Blinkbox Photos.

With a custom gown (that we're pretty obsessed with!) Desi co-ordinated a day that was chic, luxurious and organic but then infused it with bright hues and fun details, that gave it a colourful, tropical and informal feel.

It's such a skill to combine neutral boho style with something quirky and whimsical, but this beach wedding pulls it off beautifully.

Whether you're a flower crown-loving hippy or an embellishment-obsessed glamorous bride, if you're planning a destination wedding that's doused in personality, or simply someone who loves a lot of colour, we're pretty sure you'll find something to love, and to inspire, with Desi and Vincenzo's stunning island bash...

Our Wedding in Three Words?

Colorful, gaiety and intimate

The Inspiration

The theme was Beachy Bohemian.

We were also inspired by the strong colors of orange and violet but those were only incorporated on the details and the flowers.

The Attire

All the gowns and suits were custom made. My gown was an Aztec inspired look, with c ustom embroidered, embellished bodice and a frothy draped fabric skirt.

At the party, I just added a DIY headpiece made with pearls, chains, ornaments and feather.

The Ceremony

We live in Italy and so we decided to celebrate the baptism of our daughter and our wedding on that same day in Cebu, Philippines where my family live.

Advice for Other Couples

Plan ahead! Just enjoy the day and don't get easily affected of the unpredicted moments that will happen.

The Photography

We chose Blinkbox Photos because their style fit our wants and specific needs. They're talented, very proficient at outdoor photography and listenedto our vision and articulated it perfectly. They were also charming and able to put everyone at ease which for us is an important factor. Also they had a varied background of wedding experience.

The Venue

We are beach lovers and so we opted for a location that was on the beach.

It gave a laid back feel and is all natural, with a combination of sea and clouds.

The Reception

The guests were offered with juices in one of the ballrooms then accompanied to the beach area. I designed the cake and imagined it being simple two layered with ruffle skirts, twigs and flowers.

The chairs were a mix of folded chairs and benches because we wanted the ambiance to look informal.

The primary colours were neutral to complement the bohemian nature of the setting, and were then adorned with a colorful yet delicate tablescape.

We had lots of favours and DIY projects like the folded fans (used in the church as the weather in Philippines is so hot) and slippers (given to the guests on the beach) with pouch where we printed our initials.

We also made two styles of bohemian necklaces to welcome guests as they waited for their assigned seats. Made also an anklet to give my shoes a more bohemian look.

The Flowers

We had a variety of beautiful blooms like orange gerbera, roses, freesia, carnation, birds of paradise, alstromeria, solidago, c oxcomb, and statice along with fruits on the centerpieces.

The Honeymoon

We didn't take a honeymoon after the wedding.

We are just lucky to have the opportunity to constantly travel and every time we do it, we think of it as our honeymoon.

Isn't it special? I just adore how Desi styled the day from start to finish herself, what a talented bride! I love her tip on pairing the benches with the chairs to keep the informal flow (may have to borrow that one for myself!)

And I'm so glad they had their reception on the beach too, we see a lot of ceremonies on the sand but having the party near the water is pretty unusual.

Thanks so much to Blinkbox Photos and of course, Desi and Vincenzo for sharing their beautiful beach wedding with us.
