10 Botanical Wedding Inspiration Boards

Hello lovelies! We're about half way through our 'Greenhouse' month, and I've been looking through some of the botanical themed boards we've featured in the past and just loving every single one of them so much! I honestly think this is one of my favourite wedding trends/looks of all time. And, while many of these palettes use green as a base, you'll see there's no reason to limit yourself, which is great news if you're loving the look of floral prints or botanical table details, but already have your heart set on a different colour or season. The main point is to get your creative juices flowing - get ready to be inspired!

This one has always been a favourite - punchy greens combined with the softest of pinks, to create a mix of natural and romantic. Ferns also make a great motif for any botanical wedding, and are super versatile - I adore how they look on a white table with gold flatware and gold calligraphy, as pictured here. And why not go ahead and wear a blush wedding dress too? You know you want to! Pure romance.

Let's punch that colour up a few notches shall we? I love the hothouse tropical feel of fuschia, orchid and bright green - in this case the botanical aspects keep things elegant and natural, and don't let the strong colours overpower things. So pretty, right?

Lots of botanical brides not only enjoy the natural aspect to the style, but the vintage one, in that they can incorporate beautiful botanical prints in their invitations, day-of stationery and even their wedding or bridesmaid dresses. This floral print bridal gown is an absolute showstopper and sets the tone for this whole scheme.

I went pretty far back in the archive for this one, but I still love this inspiration board as much as ever. I also remember the wedding that first inspired it, where the couple had a 'herb confetti bar' concept - guests could pick different dried herbs with different meanings to express their wishes for the bride and groom and they showered them with gorgeous smelling herbs. The earth and leaf palette is elegantly rustic - and it really never goes out of style.

Here's another palette that proves you don't have to just use organic greens to create a botanical feel. In this case, I was inspired by a single bloom type (and colour) - the purple pansy, and mixed it up with soft blue, green and purple pastel shades. If a floral print wedding dress is too much for you, then how about a floral portrait lace back? Orange Blossom by Claire Pettibone is just such a beautiful botanical touch.

An autumn wedding can also definitely harness a botanical feel - I created this one using the current Pantone autumn shades, and one of my favourite details was the wall of leaves that not only make a great display but work as escort cards as well.

It's true that botanical lends itself to rustic and garden-style events, but if you're dreaming of a formal affair, there's no reason why you can't make it work for you as well. I love the mix of emerald and monochrome in this board, as well as the glitter of gold, of course!

This is a recent one, created just a couple of weeks ago for you, but I love it so much I had to include it here. Again, it's a background of green and a punch of colour - in this case, from a bright scarlet. My absolute favourite element is the invitation suite - botanical envelope liners are just the best thing!

Botanical doesn't just have to mean flowers and greenery - fruit is a lovely element for this look too. And there's probably no fruit element that's more evocative of the summer sun that citrus - I love how here it's set against crisp whites, soft orange blossoms and vintagey prints.

Finally, there's this little nugget of botanical-ness, which was inspired by the gorgeous botanical print shoes in the bottom right corner and uses quite an unusual mix of peaches and greens with a hint of purpley blue. When I researched it, it was so fun to come across other clever and sweet touches like an oversize balloon with a rose-wrapped string, and an escort card board using antique cutlery. I'm sure those aren't the last creative touches we'll see with this theme!
