From photographer Jenni Kupelian: "We wanted to set rich, jewel toned colors against the beige palette of the Smith Rock State Park in Eastern Oregon. We hoped the styling of the day would evoke romance paired with a sense of freedom in the wild landscape. The Pacific Northwest was hit very hard by wild fires over the summer, and on this particular weekend, the smoke had settled like a blanket over the whole area. It created a ethereal, pastel sky and during the whole day we felt enveloped in from the harsh sun, as the smoke became a welcome filter. As the sun began to set behind the shadow of Smith Rock, we all felt truly grateful for the fire fighters and their families working so hard to keep us all safe. It was a really beautiful, special day...one that will not be forgotten."
