Neon Makeup: Lime Green Eye Shadow

Of all the shades and hues in the makeup world, we think green is the most underrated. Unlike reds and purples that fit seamlessly into your makeup routine, green always leaves us scratching our heads. The question of how to wear this vibrant, earthy hue without looking like a big weirdo is always top of mind. And, as if a deep green or emerald shade isn't hard enough to work with, try throwing neon green into the mix! Well, we decided to face our fear head-on by trying a bright green eye shadow look, courtesy of makeup guru and YouTube star Alana Dawn. Take a look and see if this tutorial doesn't make you a believer in the power of green!

Step 1: Using a black liquid eyeliner or marker, draw a thick, bold cat eye on the upper lash line.

Step 2: Smudge lime green eye shadow along the entire lower lash line (Dawn used "Freak" from the Urban Decay Electric palette). Make sure to buff out the shadow to give off a smoky look.

Step 3: Frame the lower corner of your cat eye wing with neon green liquid liner (like NYX Vivid Brights in 03 Vivid Escape).

Step 4: Finish off your lime green look by layering your go-to mascara on your top and bottom lashes!
