Luxe 70s-Inspired Galentine's Party

Luxe 70s-Inspired Galentine's Party

via

What better time of the year to get together with your gal pals than for Galentine's Day? That's exactly what Jill from Layered Vintage thought; known for throwing awesome events, she teamed up with super savvy designer Melissa of Pow Wow Design Studio, MIHO Catering Co., + Barcon Cocktail Co.! As a team, theybrought together all of their vendor friends for one glamorous + retro '70s-inspired party at Moniker Warehouse in San Diego. Complete with a floral hair bar from The Lab a Salon, a nail art station by Hello Birdie Lab, and tunes from Dart Collective - the party was seriously rockin'.

Jill tells us I had recently fallen in love with a quote: "Girls support Girls." Simple, necessary and something I'm all about. That, combined with Valentine's Day, inspired me to throw a party to celebrate female friendships in your life, rather than just your significant other. Galentine's Day is a little silly and I know some might roll their eyes when they hear it, but having ladies in your life that love you unconditionally and are always there to support you is a priceless thing... It's definitely something to throw a party for! We couldn't agree more!

Ready to see all the fun, captured by Gantes.co? Let's look!!

Melissa of Pow Wow Design Studio shares I felt like it was the perfect opportunity to create an atmosphere for women to feel empowered and sexy in. I truly believe this is the Year of the Woman so we went with it! When we pull together and put down our judgments, comparisons and insecurities, we are capable of incredible things. The energy in the room was full of supportive women; it was unlike anything else.

Are these the prettiest lounges or what?!

The entire space was brimming with gorgeous florals + centerpieces by Layered Vintage, and candles from Often Wander.

Melissa shares The 70s were such a liberating time for women and we knew we could have fun with our inventory of furniture. So we used a ton of brass, glass and velvet. We created the backdrop for the stage out of cardboard cutouts and tons of glitter! We wanted to stage to look like a lounge in glittery 70s heaven.

Gold, brass, blush pink, and cream. We can't think of a dreamier color palette!

Disco lettering was seen throughout, as well as gold disco strips - seen here at the bar!

Barcon Cocktail Co. crafted bespoke boozy drinks for the event.

All the pretty glasses are from Hostess Haven. Sidenote: Can we have those in our kitchen?!

We haven't seen this before, but think it's such a fun idea: using pool floats from Funboy as décor items! They take on a whole other feel when decked with florals + greenery, too.

The Roc Shop crafted those drink stirrers, which perfect accent to the cocktails.

MIHO Catering provided all the delicious bites + decadent delights.

Gold flakes + mini donuts!!

That darling "Year of the Woman" tote bag is by Twinkle and Toast.

Okay, so how fun does that look?! Are you throwing your own Galentine's Party this year? It's not too late!! We'd love to hear your ideas in the comments below. Thanks to Jill at Layered Vintage + the rest of the team for all the incredible inspiration!
