I so love an old fashioned vintage affair which WWW readers Emma and Lee created perfectly for their summer wedding. There was a special vintage frock, a 1920s style band, vintage car and antique accessories for their super pretty décor.

A lot of love went into the styling of their day; with the prettiest blooms, lanterns, bunting and home made touches. The bridesmaids looked so very lovely in ivory lace dresses from Monsoon and TIffany Rose, and the flower girls with flowers in their hair looked too adorable.

Emma looked divine in a 1940s original dress she found in Fur Coat No Knickers, which she accessorised with Rachel Simpson shoes and pearls. Lee went for a really quirky cool look with a tweed jacket, blue skinny trousers and cherry red brogues. Oh soooo gorgeous.

Thanks goes to the wonderful Alexa Loy for sharing her amazing photographs with us today.

THE PROPOSAL | On my thirtieth birthday having just seen our favourite musical les miserables ....one knee in a gorgeous intimate Italian restaurant on Shaftesbury avenue.... The whole restaurant cheered and toasted to us afterwards. A wonderful moment.

THE VISION | We both knew that we wanted to host a wedding that our guests would really remember , that was original and our guests would be able to relax and enjoy. With entertainment for all ages. We both have a love of vintage and knew our vision had to mirror our passion for all things unique, quirky and with a vintage twist. We had a long guest list so economically the idea of traditional afternoon tea and then a hog roast met our budget and steered away from the formal wedding breakfast which just wasn't us! We were marrying at my fathers church in a gorgeous bucks village so an English afternoon tea wedding was going to be just perfect .

THE PLANNING PROCESS | We had around an 18 month lead in time and as we were doing the wedding ourselves this was a great amount of time. My Husband was very hands on with the planning process too and got stuck in with putting together ideas for the mood board ....going through magazines and blogs (of course including WWW!) for inspirational ideas!

We both loved the planning stage and began about collecting crockery and props from eBay, vintage websites, charity shops and auction houses. It was such a fun time helping to create our vision. We also wanted to make sure we created handmade items too, for example Lee painted all the signs throughout the venue and I decorated over 100 jam jars with ribbons, hessian and lace which were our table centre pieces and hung in the trees in the evening with electric tea lights ....so effective. We also had so much help from family and friends... My wonderful aunt made our beautiful lace bunting and her and my mum sewed over 150 fabric hearts for our favours, I used luggage tags as place names and wrote a poem on the back as a thank you to our guests.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | I always knew I wanted a vintage wedding dress.... something different and unique. I did think I'd go for something more slim line Art Deco with a headdress but the more I tried on in these styles the more i just felt I was in an evening dress. It was when I started to try the fuller skirts when I felt like a bride.

I'd only been to about three shops and then someone mentioned if I want vintage there's no other place to go to than Fur Coat No Knickers. And they were right! Emma and Laura are both vintage gems. They were so welcoming, so friendly and you knew they cared about every bride who came through the door. I think it was about dress five when I found the 'one' at FCNK. I remember coming out from behind the screen and just couldn't take my gaze from the reflection in the mirror. The 1940s French flower lace with tulle skirt was the one for me. And from that point on we had such fun at appointments tweaking elements of the dress.... choosing the style of the veil, and Emma made the most gorgeous bow headband with vintage broach for the party in the evening.

I teamed the dress with Rachel Simpson vintage inspired cream peep toe shoes with a gold edging. So comfy and perfect for the style. I then added a double rung pearl necklace and flower pearl earrings to match the daisy lace on the dress. I loved the end look and felt like me, but very bridal with a vintage twist. I also wore a vintage brown short fur jacket in the evening.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Lee found most of his outfit himself.. He knew he didn't want a formal wedding suit or morning dress... It wouldn't have fitted the look and feel. He went for blue slim/skinny trousers (bargain from Topman) a stunning Hartford blue and grey linen tweed jacket from Mr Porters website... Alexander McQueen tie, cherry red brogues, white fitted shirt by Charles Tywhitt, and an Oliver Spencer navy lattice belt from Mr Porter.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Having the ceremony at my fathers church was so special, and even more special that my uncle took the service along with my second cousin. It was so personal. I did however choose to walk in to the film score over Carrie and Bigs wedding called 'Love Letters'... As opposed to the traditional 'here comes the bride' It's such a simple piece of music and i wanted to create a stillness and calm as I walked in to the church. I think it worked beautifully. A family friend played the flute throughout the signing of the register...'my fathers favourite' from sense and sensibility . Two cousins did the readings...

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Well we had quite a few of those! Six adult bridesmaids and four little ones (plus unborn boy twins and a girl as two of the six adult bridesmaids were pregnant!) I had my two sisters... sister in law.... and three best friends. My niece and three second cousins.

As I had a lot of bridesmaids I didn't want it to look too much.... we chose ivory lace dresses to match my dress.... the four non pregnant bridesmaids in monsoon knee length lace and beaded dresses, the two pregnant bridesmaids we found a gorgeous cream lace dress by Tiffany Rose, and the little bridesmaids all wore cream lace and tulle dresses also from Monsoon. The little bridesmaids had flower crowns and older bridesmaids all chose their own hair do.... it was important for me that they looked like them and not a 'bridesmaidy' look.

THE FLOWERS | My florist was absolutely brilliant and she lives in the village where the ceremony was. Such talent! She really captured the theme and look of the day .... an English countryside vintage wedding. We therefore chose pink peonies, pink vintage style roses, and Eryngiums (blue thistles) as the main flowers with lots of green wild foliage. And for the men's button holes we used Eryngiums and small greeny... All these flowers were also put in the hand decorated jam jars for our table centre pieces. She also helped source lots of hydrangeas which we used throughout the garden....

THE CAKE | Little Red's Cake company did a beautiful three tiered cake (you can find them on Facebook) .... I kept it simple with lace and pink and green ribbon.... and linked in the afternoon tea theme with a tea cup and peony on the top. We chose chocolate sponge on one tier, a lemon and carrot...delicious!

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The brilliant Alexa Loy .... who is all about the love and light did not disappoint! From our first meeting with Alexa her genuine enthusiasm and excitement for our day shone though. She got what we wanted straight away and we had no doubt she'd be able to capture the look and feel of the day in an honest and original way. Her second photographer Mark Ashby was equally genuine and fun and neither dictated the shots but worked with us. On the day they were there in the sidelines capturing those moments ... The end result..... simply beautiful, original and brilliant pictures. Couldn't have asked for more.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | We wanted interesting pieces scattered throughout the garden so as well as sourcing crockery we collected vintage props, for example Victorian trugs and old suitcases for cards and presents, enamel buckets/jugs for floral displays, reams of handmade bunting, handmade decorated jars for centre pieces. As well as the main marquee we put together a chill out tent which had record player, typewriter and old telephone and straw bales. We had lots of children on the day and therefore borrowed fete games and a bouncy castle which all went down a treat.

Inside the main marque we put up colourful lanterns, family pictures and our collection of vintage items. We placed picture frames throughout the garden and marquee with our favourite love story quotes.

THE HONEYMOON | 3 wonderful weeks travelling throughout Thailand. Bliss.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | A surprise vintage car drive after the ceremony, chatting to guests with 1920s band playing in the background, the marque magically lit up as darkness descended on the party and dancing to the littlest hobo for our final song.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Do you what you want to do, remember its your day and above all have fun.... together!
