Trend Alert: 3 Easy Ways to Wear a Low Pony

via

Ahhh, the pony. For most of us, this classic hairstyle is our default for bad hair days or when we just need our manes out of our faces. However, this year, the typically simple and casual style is getting some serious runway action. That's right, the low pony is one of the hautest (see what we did there?) hair trends - and we are all about it! To show our support for this simple-yet-savvy style, we came up with three easy ways to make this trend your own. Now all you need to do is practice your runway walk!

Messy Pony

This mussed-up look is super easy to put together. So easy, in fact, that you can add it to your list of go-to styles for those rushed (or just plain lazy) mornings.

Step 1
: Apply a texturizing powder like L'Oréal Professionel True Grip Texturizing Powder from your roots to the ends of your hair, scrunching as you go.

Step 2:
Pull your hair back into a low pony, securing the hair with an elastic band at the nape of the neck.

Step 3:
Loosen and roughen up the style by tugging at the hair just below the crown. Wrap the base of the pony with hair from the bottom of the tail. Lightly tease the pony at the base. For extra texture, tease the entire section of hair.

Slick Pony

This sleek n' chic style is great for dry and wet locks. The beauty of this look is that it works with something as casual as a T-shirt and jeans or as snazzy as a pantsuit. And all that's required is a little gel! Get the look here!

Braided Pony

Sometimes, plain old ponytails need a little upgrade. A pretty boho braid adds the perfect touch!

Step 1:
Pull your hair back into a low pony, securing the style at the nape of the neck with an elastic band.

Step 2:
Braid the pony into a regular braid or fishtail braid and secure the end with an elastic.

Step 3.
Tug gently at the braid to loosen it. Then spray it with a flexible hold setting spray like Garnier Fructis De-Constructed Texture Tease to avoid any flyaways.
