It's no secret that I love me a bit of pink. After all, my barnet was varying shades of the colour for close to ten years straight! So when I saw Johanna and Bjorn's Swedish wedding, but heart did back flips.

The couple met 16 years ago through mutual friends. After having two daughters together, Johanna got tired of waiting for him to propose so she asked him on New Year's Eve by sending him an invitation to his own wedding!

"We both agreed that we wanted to have a personalised wedding", she told me, "that would feel very much like us. We went completely with the things we like. I wore a pink tulle dress, we had a tour car from the hillbilly band Fearless as our transport, and we started the day with a good pre-drink in our own Thai bar we have in our barn!"

The wedding took place on September 13th and the chose that date so they could book their dream photographer, Lina Nydahl. "We set a date and sent out save the date cards to all our guests. Unfortunately we had not first checked to see if our favourite photographer was free, and when she turned out to be already booked, we got a little panicked. We decided to move the entire wedding, something our guests thought was crazy, but today we are happy that we did! We love Lina's documentary style and we never even had the thought to hire someone else on such an important day."

The rest of their suppliers came from the wedding network We Do Weddings Sweden. "We only spend 8000 euro on the wedding but we invested a lot of that on hiring We Do Weddings Sweden and it was the best thing we could have done. They really helped us to create exactly the wedding we both dreamed of."

"In order to bring down costs decided our whole family to get involved in creating some details. We cut and folded all 60 pom poms hanging here and there in the old industrial building where we had the party, I designed the invitations and dinner programs myself. We bought a lot of things at flea markets, including my fabulous shoes and since I work as a silversmith I did the wedding rings myself."

"The day and evening was just as we dreamed and planned", Johanna concluded. "A personal, nice and warm wedding filled with love!"
