We're being transported to the most glamorous of eras this afternoon, with this timeless Gatsby inspired wedding.

WWW readers Kerry and Ashley were married on the 27th March 2015 at Newland Hall in Essex. They hoped to create a classic 1920s feel wedding, which worked out so perfectly.

There was sparkle and decadence alongside some brilliant DIY touches, including the gorgeous blooms. Kerry looked divine in Forgetmenot Designs teamed with green Rachel Simpson Shoes peep toes. Squeal.

THE PROPOSAL | The proposal took place on holiday in Cornwall 2011. It was our first anniversary while we were away, and Ashley booked a table in a lovely restaurant by the sea front. After our mains Ashley asked me to close my eyes as he had a present for me, I opened them to find him holding a beautiful ring, and he asked me to be his wife. The proposal came as complete shock to me, although I did wonder why he had hardly eaten. The first call I made was to my parents, and my Dad picked up the phone singing 'I'm getting married in the morning" good job he didn't bottle it really!

THE VISION | We really wanted a wedding that would be timeless and classic, but with some fun details to highlight our personalities. After finding our venue, and the dress had been picked, we decided a 1920's Gatsby feel would be perfect for us.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | We had decided to give ourselves two years to plan and save for our wedding, and we had already decided we would love a spring wedding. At the end of 2012 we went to view our venue and totally fell in love with it. Then in 2013 Ashley gave me an envelope for Valentines Day, inside was a receipt to say Ashley had paid the deposit and I just had to call with the date I wanted for March 2015. Once the date was set most of my time was spent on pinterest, wedding blogs, and a brides to be group on facebook. After our theme and colours were chosen, I started on the mass amount of DIY projects I had set myself, including the stationery, flowers, table names and plan, and all the little details. This became stressful at times, but seeing it all together on the day, and knowing I had made it myself, made it completely worth while.

THE VENUE | Our venue was the first and only venue we went to visit. I did look at others online after visiting Newland Hall but nothing came close. When we pulled up at the gorgeous Tudor house, we both had a feeling that Newland Hall was the venue for us. The house and marquee were amazing, and the staff were brilliant from start to finish.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | My dress is a forget- me -not designs gown called Mabel. The lovely ladies also designed and made my headband for me too. I wore a pair of Rachel Simpson shoes called Mimosa in a lovely mint colour to match our theme. I had a faux fur bolero to cover my shoulders for times I felt chilly, which I borrowed from my mum.

FINDING THE DRESS | I wasn't actually looking to buy my dress when I found her. I went to the London wedding show in the February - 2 years before the wedding, and fell in love with a dress by forget me not designs. Knowing that we still had two years, I walked away from the dress and continued having a look more locally . Every dress I tried on, I compared to that dress, and nothing was coming close for me. Then in the following February I went back to the show, and the dress was back too, I tried her on again and still loved her. My Mum asked me to try on another one of their dresses before we left their stall. I tried it on, and couldn't believe I had found a dress I actually loved more! Thankfully the ladies of forget me not designs are totally lovely and allowed me to go back and try her on another 4 times that day. The deposit was paid there and then, and I had my dress on order.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | We actually got the suits from Maidstone in Kent. Ashley is from Maidstone, and most of his groomsmen are still in that area so it made sense to get suits that were local to the majority. Ashley wears suits often for work, so didn't want a colour he wears for the office, he also didn't want tails or a patterned waistcoat either. It was one of Ashley's ushers that recommended Lapel mens hire to us, and it turns out that Mark has kitted out quite a few of our friends weddings too. Ashley decided on a navy suit, with matching waistcoat. The men had mint ties, and Ashley had the blush pink. Mark even sorted them all out with matching navy shoes.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | My Mum did a reading for us during the service called 'on your wedding day'. It was lovely to stand there and listen to the words whilst taking everything in, was calming in a way.

We had piano music of well known songs playing during the ceremony, and my good friend Tasha played 'here comes the sun' by the beetles on the piano as I walked down the aisle.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | I had 3 bridesmaids and a flower girl. Two are my best friends Sadie and Lorna, the other being our Daughter Chloe. They all wore Boden dresses and accessories from Dorothy Perkins and shoes from Monsoon. My flower girl, is our lovely niece Selina, she wore a dress designed and made by Lorna's Mum Karen, accessories by Next and shoes from BHS. They really did me proud on the day, I'm so glad I have them in my life and next to me on my wedding day.

THE FLOWERS | I've always loved hydrangeas, so I knew from the start of our planning that I would be having those as my flowers. I made all the flowers bouquets and arrangements myself; I brought all the flowers online from country baskets, and found I actually really enjoyed making them all. I added brooches from local charity shops and family members to my bouquet to give it a bit more of a Gatsby feel. The bridesmaids had roses with small bunches of hydrangea petals, and I added small heart embellishments to the middle of each rose to tie them in with mine. I used the same flowers for the wish tree and table centres but in more cream colours, with the pink hydrangeas.

THE CAKE | We are very lucky to have a talented cake maker in our family. Steph was an obvious choice; I knew she would deliver a stunning cake that would taste as good as it looked. She didn't disappoint! Each layer was a different flavour starting with fruitcake, then carrot, lemon, and sponge.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | We first met Faye at the national wedding show, and instantly liked her and her work. We did continue searching for photographers after seeing Faye there, mainly as she wasn't local to us, but Faye was the only photographer we both really liked. We got in contact with Faye and was thrilled that she was free, and that she travels. Faye also included a pre wedding shoot for us, and I'm so pleased we went for it. Faye was brilliant at calming our nerves and stopping us feeling awkward and that really showed in our wedding photos. We love our wedding photos, and I'm so pleased we went with our gut feeling that Faye would deliver exactly what we wanted.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Newland Hall is an amazing venue, and very well decorated. The king Henry room is gorgeous and didn't need any decorations added to it. We simply had photos of our grandparents on the fireplace and our parents wedding photos on the table to add a personal touch to the ceremony. The marquee works as a brilliant backdrop and allows you to decorate it to fit with any theme.

We had candelabra lent to us by Ashley's cousin, which we decorated with flowers and pearls as our table centres. Sticking with the Gatsby feel we went for glitter tea light holders and 1920's stars as our table names. My favourite DIY project was the table names and table plan, I was so happy with the way they turned out, and they fitted so well in the marquee. We had the chairs covered with and lace added over the top. We then added some personal touches, photo props and a wish tree, which guests hang messages from.

THE HONEYMOON | We have booked to go to Mexico in October for 10 days. It's going to be lovely to get some winter sunshine, and it's given us something to look forward to after the wedding buzz has finished.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | There are so many lovely moments during our wedding. Our son snoring on Ashley's shoulder the whole way through our vows, wondering if the horse in the field next to us was going to jump the fence during our photos, My childhood teddy turning up during my Dad's speech and the look on everyone's faces when Del boy crashed the best man's speech are some of my favourites, but there are far more memories made.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | You won't please everyone, but as long as you're happy, you'll have the perfect wedding. All the stress during the build up will disappear on the day, you'll be having to much fun to worry about the small stuff. It goes really fast! Take some time out with your Husband / Wife during the evening to take it all in, sit back and watch your guests having fun.
