Classic Newport Substation Wedding - Polka Dot Bride

There is a sense of old world glamour on Daniella and Adrian's wedding day. Traditions, like wrapping the bride and groom in streamers as they dance their first dance was only one of the beautiful family traditions and moments they included in their stunning classic Newport Substation wedding. The couple chose Aparat Photography to capture their day.

Daniella tells, "We met in 2006 on the island of Paros in Greece. I was on a 5 month backpacking trip with my two friends and Adrian (who happened to be my girlfriend's brother) decided to meet us for a month of the journey and we hit it off."

Daniella, owner of For Me By Dee, did much of the design for the wedding herself, starting with the invitations. Daniella also created the menus, seating chart, place cards, notepads for the guests to write in and thank you tags which adorned the favors.

created the bride's dress. She tells, "I wore a Jane Hill custom made gown which I absolutely loved. I wanted to feel comfortable, classic and warm on the day. My gown was made from Italian lace featuring long sleeves and a split down the front allowing me to walk freely and dance the night away!"

Adrian wore a navy woolen suit from .

Ange Radatti created the floral arrangements for the day, the bride noting, "Our florist was absolutely amazing. Ange and I had worked together a few years ago and when I had asked her if she would create our floral arrangements for our wedding day she was thrilled. I left her with such an open brief, it needed to be bright fun and creative and that it most definitely was. Ange created the most unique bouquet I had ever seen. I was so proud to hold it! She also created corsages and buttonholes to compliment. They were like a piece of art!"

Daniella walked down the aisle with her father to Pachelbel's Canon in D.

The couple chose St Mary's Catholic Church, Williamstown for their ceremony, noting, "We wanted a warm intimate ceremony, and that it was. One of the reasons we chose St Mary's was for its size. It provided a space where we could have an intimate ceremony and really feel engaged with our guests."

The Substation was chosen by Daniella and Adrian for the reception, the bride noting, "The Substation is a renovated power station with red brick exterior and interior. Inside features floor to ceiling windows with red velvet curtains creating quite an impact for guests on arrival and a unique backdrop for photos."

Of their photographers, Daniella tells, "I had met Jakob and Zosia whilst they were shooting my friends wedding and immediately fell in love with their style. Not only did they capture amazing moments on the day, they went about their photography in the most relaxed way. They are the most down to earth, likeable brother/sister duo you will meet and filled to the brim with talent!

We felt so confident and comfortable with Aparat on the day, we honestly felt as though we had invited 2 old friends to our wedding who just happened to take amazing photos. They blended in throughout the day and captured the most intimate moments without being directly in our faces. When we received our photos we kept saying "I don't remember them being there for that moment." We are so very happy with what they have captured for us and wish them all the very best in their future endeavours which we are sure will be filled with success."

Daniella tells, "Festoon lighting was a must for ambiance and warmth. Flowers both on the tables, bouquets and button holes were brightly coloured adding a fun and creative factor. Our favors were glass test tubes filled with organic loose leaf tea from Organics for Lily put together by Adrian's mother."

The groom's mother sprayed the newlyweds chairs a shimmering gold

Fred & Ginger Catering catered a sit down feast for the wedding.

Of the first dance, Daniella remembers, "Our first dance was to the song 'Magic' by Cold Play. Both Adrian and I love Cold Play and the lyrics to this song really resonated with us, we also thought the beat/bass would sound amazing at our venue. The video clip to this song and its magic show theme complimented the look we had at The Substation which was a nice touch."

"During our first dance we had our family wrap us in brightly coloured streamers (a family tradition going back over 30 years)."

Daniella and Adrian chose The Baker Boys to keep the party atmosphere.

"Our last song of the night was 'lovers in the air' a song which Daniella and Adrian had shared their first dance to when they met in 2009. We were both carried out to that song surrounded by all of our guests. The guests were each handed confetti poppers and we were showered in confetti whilst we were lifted in the air! "

In case that wasn't enough beauty for your day, I'm very excited to be able to share the finishing touch, Danielle and Adrian's wedding film captured by Purple Ribbon Weddings.

Congratulations Daniella and Adrian! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Aparat Photography for sharing today's wedding with us!
