Stranded: Pros Sound Off on Their Desert Island Beauty Essentials

We all know the famous tale where what was supposed to be a three-hour-tour landed a motley crew of seven boat passengers shipwrecked onto Gilligan's Island. If we learned anything from that classic show, it's that with a few key essentials (and a coconut or two), you can survive even the most dire of situations. What if YOU were stranded on a desert island? What life-saving staples would you need to get you through? We posed this very question to some of our favorite beauty pros. Check out the items they would want to be stranded with!

Ashley Rebecca, New York-based celebrity makeup artist

"I would need to have the Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation because it's lightweight and perfect for hot weather. Also, La Roche-Posay Anthelios 45 Face sunscreen because I would need some major SPF. Oh, and (I would need) a lot of whiskey, too."

Emily Oliver, Los Angeles-based celebrity makeup artist

"(If I were stranded on an island I would need) the Giorgio Armani Crema Nera Reviving Eye Compact, because it's such a moisture bomb! The ingredients act as humectants, locking in moisture in the delicate eye area, while nourishing it at the same time. Next, I'd want the L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Balm Pop - these lend moisture and give lips a tint at the same time! If stranded on an island, this can also double as blush in a pinch! Yves Saint Laurent Faux Cils Mascara is must-have, too! This lovely formula is pumped with vitamins, which help make lashes grow. The product can also serve as a cream liner. So, if I were stranded, this would be the two-in-one product to help me feel glam! Kiehl's Creme De Corps Soy Milk and Honey Whipped Body Butter is also an absolute desert must-have. Hydration is key in both dry and tropical climates."

"First I would need The Body Shop Banana Shampoo. It smells good enough to eat and, on a desert island, I may have to resort to that! It also has real banana purée in it and leaves hair super shiny. Next, I would want L'Oréal Paris Youth Code Dark Spot SPF 30 Day Cream. If I'm stuck on an island, I want a strong SPF to protect my face."

Zachary Morad, Los Angeles-based Hair Stylist

"I would absolutely need to have the Shu Uemura Ultimate Remedy Extreme Restoration Duo-Serum with me because it is the one product that is in my hair everyday, without fail. A nourishing cream is combined with a lotus-infused serum to condition, protect and control frizz, while sealing in moisture and strengthening your hair's natural fiber.
