In real life, John Cena and Nikki Bella have been dating since November 2012. It's not one of those situations where there is a fake romance between WWE characters but not between the people portraying them;this is real and it is happening!

This proposal had been heavily telegraphed on WWE television for months in advance, with Cena engaged in a storyline in which his girlfriend is repeatedly mocked because she wants to get married while her boyfriend, John Cena, does not.
