#115: summer fete

Summer’s (finally) here!! I hope you made the most of it this weekend?  Perhaps you headed out for a deliciously sunny engagement shoot, a barbecue in the garden with family and friends, or a picnic in the park? Whatever your sunny adventures were I hope you had fun!

This week’s inspiration board is a celebration of all things summery, and you don’t get more summery than a country village fête.  Such a typically British affair!  Let’s start with your stationery, a gingham and kraft suite of prettiness with added bunting and country touches.  Chintzy fabric bunting (love this clever rustic knotted version) and flowery bridesmaids dresses with beautiful blousy bouquets brimming with the freshest of summer blooms.  This one even incorporate strawberries – embracing my favourite trend of food-related decor!  I love the groom’s gingham tie and the boutonnière for a sweet touch of yellow, and of course stripy straws in Pimms for a properly British cocktail.  Haybale seating, jam jar favours and how about a fresh take on the naked cake, with a delicious pavlova?
