Vintage wedding a-la Great Gatsby have been on the rise over the last few months. Rightfully so because it takes you back to an era where decadence, social upheaval, and the jazz age was revolutionized into the American Dream. Vintage is something that is beautiful, full of excess, extraordinary yet simple. This era, although reckless, is one that we as Wedding Planners have incorporated into many vintage weddings. To provide more of a ” WOW FACTOR” weddings and other events have to be stimulating. What we see when we enter the space, what we eat, what entertainment is available are all key factors. So to have a vintage wedding based off the Great Gatsby movement is one that is filled with dancing, opulent decor and great food. These are fascinating revelations to life that takes us out of our normal weekly routines and places us into a world apart of our own. Even if its for a few hours, those memories will last eternal. Back in May we hosted on our Facebook page a Event Planning contest where we allowed our followers to tell us why we should plan their next event for FREE. We tend to do this every quarter. For this contest we had the honor of selecting Shea and William who so happened to request our support in designing a vintage wedding for them this coming September. You can image the excitement we felt to add to this amazing trend. Part of our duties to the contest winners was participating in a vintage photo shoot which was amazing. The love that Shea and William expressed from the first day we met was something that has carried over each time I have meet them and ever more during the photo shoot. This young couple is full of life, excitement, and flavor which fits perfectly in the vintage theme of their wedding. We ventured out to Union Station in DC to capture amazing photos by Eye of Ray. Two looks composed the photo shoot of this beautiful couple. One dolled up to evoke the vintage style with a twist and the other a more casual look. Check out the candid photos from the shoot and see what we saw booming from this happy couple. Their wedding will feature special vintage themed table decor such as type writers, old camera, pearls, and books as centerpieces. We will also incorporate large trunks, flowers, lace and other key elements to pull together the venue to highlight their amazing theme. We cannot wait to plan their vintage wedding this coming September.
