Today’s wedding got me to thinking. Because for all of the things frilly, girly, romantic, and elegant that create fantastic fetes, I get super excited when a wedding is classified as “alternative” or “offbeat.” But what makes a wedding “alternative?” Is it the fashion, the music? Are they any less chic, love-filled,or ruffly? NAH!! In Kim and Jim’s case, it’s the teamwork form their friends, fam and fab photographer Now Fly Away who has captured every sweet personal embellishments that has created a perfectly classic alternative wedding!

This was one of those super sweet weddings where you see the couple’s friends and family all come together to make it happen. Kimberly and Jim were married by their long time friend, Anna. In lieu of boutineers the groomsmen wore pins made by Jim brother and best man, Jared. They all walked down the aisle to a song of Jim’s choice, “Baptized in Flames.” The bridesmaids walked to “The Way I Feel Inside” by The Zombies, and Kim walked to “Crimson and Clover.”
The wedding bands came from Ash Hilton, and they chose pine trees to remember their wedding day in Lost Pines and because the pine tree is sacred to The Cherokee. For dinner they served frito pie! The cake table featured pies, ice cream and a small cake from Central Market with topper made by Kim.
