When we feature weddings, we love to highlight all the little details that help make the day special. What I love about these photos from Jenn and Josh’s wedding is that they really show off details that weren’t just about creating a pretty space, but that were all about creating a memorable experience for both the couple and their guests. Starting with the movie theater ceremony venue…

The couple’s favorite part of the day? “Our ceremony at the Monarch Theatre by far! We stuck to the theme and served popcorn and played a movie slideshow that my sister had made for us! This was the best, as both Josh and I had not watched the movie before then.”

After the ceremony, the bridal party stopped by Swirls for ice cream cones. Love this idea!

Before heading to the reception, the couple stopped for portraits.

The reception took place at another unique venue: Medalta Potteries reception gallery. It’s an historic, industrial space with plenty of room for dancing!

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding?  We wanted to have something different – not your typical church wedding and hotel reception. As soon as we saw the venues in Medicine Hat, we knew right away that this was where we were going to have our big day. We loved that both of the venues were so unique! Once we learned about each of the locations they became even more perfect for our not-so-traditional wedding.

What was the best advice you received as a bride? Don’t stress over anything that might not go the way you wanted it to go; your guests will be none the wiser.

What advice do you have for other brides?  Enjoy every moment of your day, it goes by so quickly!

Is there anything else that helps tell the story of the day?  The unique and vintage style of both venues made it easy to create an experience for our guests that they will always remember. Most importantly though it was a relaxed, fun and memorable day that we were able to share with family and friends and we will forever cherish!
