Vintage Romance Styled Shoot

Vintage Romance Styled Shoot

Good morning brides!  I hope you’re all having a wonderful week!  We’re nearing the end of our first week in South Africa, and today are heading further down the coast on a long drive. Follow #blovedtravel on twitter for my latest updates and insights into honeymooning in South Africa!  Ooh, and have you registered for the b.party yet? Registration closes tomorrow so don’t miss your chance!

Today, we’re being inspired by a talented group of US-based wedding professionals, including MarieSam Sanchez Photography who submitted this rich & opulent vintage styled shoot.  What I love most is the departure from dusky, antique pinks and greens towards a much bolder red and green palette, which would work beautifully in the later months of the year.

To make this look achievable for your own wedding, the team included details that you could easily recreate at home – from the piles of vintage books to sweet wooden signs, home-grown succulents and rustic-styled dessert bar.  The key to the look is lots of details, and not being afraid to mix things up – not sticking rigidly to flowers in vases, but draped artistically among the décor.

We wanted to evoke a feel of Vintage Romance. The Irvine Regional Park in the city of Orange, California was the perfect setting for this shoot because it provided a lush backdrop, including large trees and a serene quiet space, to help create an intimate and romantic setting for our beautiful pair.

The gorgeous attire was fuelled again by the essence of vintage romance, particularly with the bridal gown ~ which was a handmade lace piece that is now featured in the designer’s Etsy shop!

The lovely décor pieces were carefully put together to create an overall vibe of classic romance with a modern day twist. While many people associate vintage details with pastels and pale coloured hues, the colour palette used for this styled shoot were bold, rich and strong, providing the perfect colour scheme for either a fall inspired wedding or a festive celebration.
