New York Bridal Week Favorites 2013 ✈ Friday’s FAB 5

via

Today we’re going to cut to the chase and pare the recent New York Bridal Week down to five of our favorite dresses.. ok maybe six. This was hard to do, but these dresses really stood out from the crowd. I am just incredibly in love with the dove grey Sareh Nouri gown below. The colour, the chiffon, the delicate sleeves and flower bunch detail, everything is simply perfect. I’m not a huge fan of veils but I loved the capes, sheer wraps and even cascading sleeves that were everywhere last week- as on the Reem Acra gown in the second image below. The splashes of silver on this Daalarna gown captivated me, I’ve never seen anything like it in a wedding dress before!

Johanna Johnson had some stunning accessories like the matching belt and headpiece above (the dress isn’t so bad either!) I have to admit I wasn’t overly enamored with Jenny Packham’s new collection. I never thought I’d fall out of love with this designer (I wore one of her gowns at my own wedding) but maybe I’m just longing for a cleaner line this year because Claire Pettibone wasn’t wowing me either, which is unusual as well. Below are my favorites from both of their 2014 collections. What do you think- did any designer catch your eye, for better or worse?

Friday’s FAB 5

Time for our favorite wedding occurrences on the web this past week:

✈ An explosion of colour!

✈ Greek-inspired garden celebration

✈ How to have an ethical wedding part 1… & part 2

✈ We’re obsessed with this Hawaiian venue

✈ Perfect upbeat Kishi Bashi soundtrack

Can’t quite get my head around the fact that it’s Friday once more! Our week here started off with a look at Jennifer Gifford, an up and coming Australian designer with pretty feminine and floral gowns. Then we learned about the protea as a wedding flower and traveled to Portugal for a vineyard destination wedding. Finally yesterday saw a gorgeous castle wedding in Tuscany where the couple were married by the same celebrant that married the bride’s parents. And on that sweet note we leave you to enjoy your weekend!
