Kelsey + Bastien’s love story has traveled all the way to France + back. The two met while Kelsey was living abroad and so, naturally, their gorgeous Seattle wedding was not only a beautiful representation of their history + life together, but it was filled with lots of romantic, Parisian-inspired details, too! They truly couldn’t have picked a more perfect venue to host their intimate, 19 guest celebration. The Corson Building, in Seattle’s Georgetown District, with it’s cracked white walls, distressed chandeliers, and moody lighting transports you to an 18th century European garden house. So much beauty at every single turn. Here’s a bit more about the day from their talented photographer, Carina Skrobecki:

Kelsey + Bastien’s wedding day, although beautifully adorned, was focused on the people present, especially since half of them traveled halfway around the world to join them! Everything was done slowly and with intent. No timelines and no schedules. Half of the vows & toasts were in French and you literally felt like you were in another world. The two of them did it their way and know what’s important to them — family, friends, and good glass of champagne. In that order.

Their ceremony site was set in the venue’s beautiful courtyard with charming French cafe chairs for seating and a pretty fabric + floral backdrop. It looks so lovely, right?!

And love Kelsey’s softly arranged bouquet comprised of fluffy garden roses, dusty miller + more, designed by Countryside Floral & Garden.

According to Kelsey, We had our ceremony half in French and half in English, and being able to choose readings and songs that were special to us in both languages made it really meaningful. My godfather officiated and did a fabulous job of making our ceremony totally unique and about us.

The reception was reminiscent of an intimate dinner party, where, for six hours, everyone dined over candlelight, sipped champagne + swapped stories. Sounds like the most perfect night!

Relax. No detail is worth getting so worked up about that you remember the stress related to it more than you do the wedding day itself. Also, take the contributions of your parents and parents-in-law to heart. Remember that this day is probably just as significant and meaningful for them as it is for you, so let them play a role.
