Neutrals are most have’s for use in your wedding decor and Grays are one of the most popular go-to neutral colors because it comes with some undertones that opens for varieties. There is also the Grey Grays, Cool Grays like the bluegrays and the warm Grays like the taupe and metallic. Did you know that?  For a simple elegant and modern wedding, Grays are great color base to pair up with any exciting pop of colors like Yellow, Red or even Purple. But, If you look out there, you’ll notice there are several names being given to the shades of Grays and if you are not an architect or into home decor, it could be overwhelming and even not necessary to stick to a name.

To make things a lot easier, we have decided to call our Grays something quite simple to remember, more like an everyday gray names just to inspire your love for Gray weddings. I also used Benjaminmoore color gallery as a guide for my gray shades. Imagine your Gele in Light Gray or Metallic Gray. This could come out looking brilliant in your traditional aso-ebi too. Which shade of Gray do you prefer?

This Metallic Gray or Silver Gray is gray-cool for me! If you are looking for a classy-modern feel to your wedding, this shade of gray is it! Some might call it Gun Metal but I will rather remember this as silver or metallic gray.

This shade of Gray looks cool especially when used in suits. A pop of color for the tie or boutonniere usually makes this color the new black. You can call it Slate Gray or Gravel Gray

This shade of Gray is actually more popular than the rest.Loads of us might call it Ash-gray but because the ash gray color could range from light to dark,  I would rather call it light gray or Annapolis Gray.

This cool shade of Gray has Blue undertone, so I call it Blue-Gray. In-fact, it’s called Oxford Gray but who can  easily remember that? This falls under cool grays.

And from  the Taupe side of things, Annapolis Gray or Taupe Gray and falls under the warm grays.

There are several other shades of Grays even more than 50 shades of Grays with 50 different names to it, I would not bother too much as not all shades would be available in textiles. There are loads of neutral grays to choose from but these ones above are easy to come by in fabrics.Choose the color that is readily available in your community or near your ideal shade of Grays, then tell your planner to work with that in building the perfect color palette for your wedding or event. Ciao!xx
