Wedding Venues in Southern France ✈ Spotlight

Today we take a look at three beautiful wedding venues in southern France: the list of countries that I really want to spend a year in is getting longer and longer! I love France, its culture, amazing food and wine and the beautiful small towns and venues that embody all three. It's on top of my list to spend at least three months there with no plan other than to tour the country. I can dream can't I?! For the moment this morning, Avignon is our first stop.

Crillon le Brave is a small village located on top of a hill, about 25 miles northeast of Avignon in the heart of Provence. On top of this hill is one of the most absolutely stunning wedding venues in France. Hotel Crillon Le Brave has 32 guest rooms spread over seven old village houses connected by bridges, alleyways and hidden courtyards. The views of the surrounding vineyards and olive groves are spectacular. The hotel is available for exclusive use for wedding celebrations and can accommodate 70 guests at the hotel with accommodation nearby for another 30. The hotel offers a range of options and activities to make your wedding unique (how does a picnic lunch buffet at a nearby château with a vineyard visit and tasting sound?) so drop them a line for more information.

Another one of the most beautiful wedding venues in France has to be this lovely property set in the heart of the Bordeaux countryside. It will delight restoration lovers having just undergone a huge transformation of its own. The stunning castle is also a wine estate that exports worldwide. Just 20mins from the centre of Bordeaux, the castle is available from 3-7 nights for weddings, along with a selection of castle rooms and self-catering cottages accommodating up to 26 adults with additional beds for children. With its enviable rural location, wedding parties are able to enjoy an extended party license until 4am!

Looking for a coastal venue for your large destination wedding? Villa Le Rose is another of our favourite venues in France. Built in the 19 th century in Italian Renaissance style this summer retreat and is renowned for its 9 gardens with spectacular sea views and waterfalls. One of the most distinctive palaces on the French Riviera it features elegant salons draped with tapestries, exquisite trompe-l'œil paintings and lavish and rare antiques. There is no accommodation at the property but there are a large choice of country villas, apartments, 4 and 5 star hotels within a short drive. For a large celebration of up to 300 guests this venue is one of the finest locations in Europe and for added decadence there is also a beautifully lit fountain show set to music.
