A dos Santos Sandton Celebration

A dos Santos Sandton Celebration

Today on Wedding Friends, we are honored to have a post by the timeless team of Tyme Photography. The dos Santos wedding took place at the Sandton Convention Centre and the team from Tyme once again proved that no matter where the location, they will always deliver spectacular work. The dos Santos couple is sharing their story with us:

{I Propose} - Elaborate on how the two of you met

Bruno and I met when we were both in high school but stayed 'just friends' for about a year. In fact, Bruno left me dateless for not one but two Matric dances two weeks before the event! But with those dimples and his mischievous charm he was quickly forgiven. Then in April 2005 we began to be more than 'just friends'and on the 25th of November that year, Bruno - ever the romantic - surprised me with a ring he had ordered from Honey Boutique and asked me to officially be his girlfriend. From then on we became inseparable, even our friends nicknamed us 'Maruno'. 7 years later, on a private beach in Mauritius, Bruno made me the happiest girl in the world as he dropped to one knee and said "I've grown up with you, now I want to grow old with you".

{Bride & Prejudice} - Express some memorable experiences you had during the planning

Planning, whilst at times overwhelming, was calm and ran pretty smoothly! We both are blessed with incredibly loving and supportive parents who will go to the ends of the earth for us and who have never interfered in our relationship. We all get along as if we were family from day one. This didn't change one bit during the planning process, as I have seen happen so often. If anything the bond grew even stronger. Bruno and I were able to plan our perfect day, just as we envisioned it without any real fights or upsets -something we will never forget and forever be grateful for.

{My Fair Wedding} - Describe an event that you feel was unique

The morning of our wedding was a flurry of emotion! I crawled into bed with my parents at the crack of dawn, sad that this was the last time I would wake up in my family home (Bruno and I had decided to only live together once we were married) but incredibly excited to marry my best friend and start a new chapter together! The excitement grew and quickly transformed into elation as we were declared Mr and Mrs dos Santos in front of our family and friends. The 'high' continued all through our 'classic' reception within a metropolitan setting as everyone ate, drank and danced the night away!

{Don't Tell The Bride} - Reveal something that happened behind the scenes

On the day there are things you can control and then there are things you just can't. Like our gorgeous 2 year old pageboy - dressed to kill with cuteness - deciding just seconds before walking down the isle, that he did not want to participate in this and simply let the entire church know by screaming for his mommy with tears pouring down his cheeks. I guess that is one way of making an entrance!

{No More Wedding Woes} - Share your wedding advice for future brides

As in most things in life, our experiences are determined by those we share them with. Make sure to surround yourself with those who add value to you. We were incredibly blessed to work with awesome people. From my incredible Maid of honor, groomsmen and bridesmaids, to our photographers, decor team and stationary designer. They each were so understanding and accommodating throughout the planning and brought such a sense of calmness on the day which allowed me to enjoy it even more!
