How Very Pinteresting...!

How Very Pinteresting...!

Afternoon lovelies. Did you enjoy the sunshine this weekend? At last it seemed for some of us that Spring might possibly be on its way. Personally I adore this time of year because of the bubbling anticipation in the air - a sign of things to come.

Forgive me then for introducing a wintry note into the mix in this afternoon's post...actually I think I can safely say that you won't really mind when you cast your peepers on the pretty below.

If you cast your thoughts back to the beginning of December last year (honestly where does the time go?!) then you might remember that the RMW team launched a Pinterest competition for you lovely lot to get involved in. If not you can read more here.

We asked you folks to create your own Pinterest board entitled 'Rock My Winter Wedding' and then cram it full to the brim with fabulous winter wedding inspiration. We were thrilled at the sheer number of you that entered and all of your wonderful festive interpretations of the theme. It was difficult to choose but there really could only be one winner...

Drum roll please.....

We're proud to announce that the lovely Cathryn was our lucky winner! We thought her board flowed beautifully as well as retaining a strong bridal theme...in short it ticked all of the RMW team's boxes.

We've included some of the beautiful images from her entry below to give you a small taster of her Winter wedding interpretation but if you're keen to see the full shebang then can see her board in its entirety here.

We also thought it might be nice for you folks to hear from the lucky lady herself so without further ado I give you Cathryn.

Cathryn: My name is Cathryn and I have just recently relocated back to the UK from Australia with my husband Alex. He's a wedding photographer and I'm a fashion designer and illustrator. I love to draw and do anything crafty and I LOVE weddings. I would love to work within the wedding industry one day as it's a big passion of mine. I also run a blog which you can read more about here.

I've been married to Alex for a year and a half. We had the most amazing day where we got married in a barn down in cornwall. It was an emotional day as we were moving to Australia 2 weeks after so we knew it was the last time we would see our loved ones for a while. You can see our wedding here.

I was so excited when the Pinterest competition was announced as I am slightly addicted to Pinterest and weddings so it was a perfect combination. When I was creating the board I really wanted to convey a strong image of a whimsical and rustic wedding but also very elegant. I adored the grey coloured leaves to create a frosty feel to a wedding bouquet and more twig like floral crowns which emphasises the bare trees in the winter season. I chose frosty colours with some rich tones thrown in for good measure. I also love naked cakes! They are used a lot in spring summer weddings but something about them looks very cosy & homely. Also you can't have a winter wedding without some hot drinks to warm you through and my husband and I are huge fans of coffee so I couldn't resist adding these in.

As you folks probably already know, the prize for winning the Rock My Wedding Pinterest competition, was to join Team RMW as a guest pinner and pin away to your heart's content. The lovely Cathryn will be adding her 'pinspirations' to not just one but five RMW boards including: City Weddings, Country/Back Garden Weddings, Classic Timeless Weddings, Grey Colour Palette Weddings and Yellow Colour Palette Weddings.

Why not go and check out Cathryn's delicious pins - she's already been a very busy bee adding the best of the best to these boards already! I particularly love her additions to our Yellow weddings board which is exactly what I like to see on a grey Monday such as today! Cathryn will be on board the RMW pinning train until the end of March so be sure to take a peek at the boards mentioned above for her take on the themes.

Commiserations to those of you who entered but weren't lucky this time round. Don't despair however...all is not lost!

We'll be running our next Pinterest competition searching for the next guest pinner in two weeks time so be sure to swing by to check out the new theme.

Will you be the next RMW guest pinner?

I have my fingers crossed for you...

All my love Lolly xxx
