Accusations are flying that Kim Kardashian faked her elaborate surprise engagement to Kanye West just so it could air on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

RadarOnline is posing the theory that Kardashian and West were already engaged when he supposedly surprised her with his over-the-top proposal at AT&T Park in San Francisco on Oct. 21. The theory is based on scenes from an episode of the reality show that shows Kardashian wearing her enormous Lorraine Schwartz designed diamond ring, which aired prior to the episode in which the couple becomes engaged.

The reality star's rep brushed off any notions that the proposal was staged, telling The Huffington Post that it was an editing issue and that the scenes where Kardashian is seen wearing the ring in her home were in fact shot after West proposed in San Francisco.

It's a very plausible explanation, as one would think the show's producers would be more cautious about any scene that contained the ring had the proposal actually been staged for TV. What's more, West is the least likely candidate to fake the proposal, since he has all but washed his hands of the show.

"When we got engaged ... I made sure the show was there [filming] because I felt like that's something that would make her happy," West told Hot 97 host Angie Martinez in November 2013. "Regardless of how it was shot, I felt like this is a moment she would like to have and would like to share, and just have that documented. And we could decide later or not if we wanted to air it."
