Unique And Earthy Wedding

Unique And Earthy Wedding

On a crisp unusually cold March day in the South, Erica and Kyle invited their guests to take a step back in time to a simpler era filled with wild flowers, vintage linens and candlelight. Their wedding venue, The Benachi House, dating back to the early 1800′s, provided the most romantic setting complete with an iron gazebo, chamber music, an original wishing well, in the middle of charming New Orleans. The Bride and Groom were looking to keep their wedding simple, earthy, and unique.

In keeping with the desires of the bride and groom for authenticity, the cake stand was made from an actual tree trunk with two love birds adorned on the top, and the bride wore a stunning Claire Pettibone dress. Each bridesmaid was equipped with a unique but equally gorgeous bouquet from Poppy and Mint Floral Company.

From the Bride:
The one thing I would have done differently is to be prepared with a real plan B for the weather. I loved our venue so much I just prayed for the weather to be nice.

We were so fortunate it didn't rain, but even just the cold, windy weather effected the way our guests enjoyed the event. My grandparents stayed inside for most of the reception, and a lot of guests left earlier than they might have otherwise. Looking back, I wish we'd had an indoor back-up plan so that all of our guests could have been more comfortable and really experienced all the detail and work we put into the event.

The stunning four tier cake from Flour Power fits perfectly with the feel for the wedding, simple and earthy while still refined. And how about that stump cake stand. We love.
