Sam and Blake's engagement began with what Sam calls the "best dam proposal" ever. The two were vacationing in Las Vegas and Blake popped the question during a trip to the Hoover Dam. "Nearing the end of our tour of the dam, Blake pulled me over to a viewing area and asked me to take a picture of him," Sam explains. "As I got the camera out, he got down on one knee, pulled out the ring box and asked me to marry him!"

To two chose to marry in the early fall at a celebration filled with pops of yellow, blue and grey to reflect their country venue, Stanley Bridge Country Resort. The big day began with an outdoor ceremony in front of the property's flower garden followed by a reception filled with DIY touches. "We handmade most of our materials for the reception including the seating chart, card box, table numbers, guest name tags, guest book letters, chalkboards and wedding favours," explains Sam. The reception ended with some maritime foot stomping tunes followed by a late-night campfire.

"If I could relive one day in my life it would certainly be my wedding day," says Blake. "To marry the woman of my dreams in front of all the people that I care about was truly amazing. It was the perfect day."
