Black and Gray Wedding Dresses

Black and Gray Wedding Dresses

While blush has become the most popular go-to wedding dress color alternative, I am really digging black and gray lately. No longer just for the Victorian Gothic contingent, these dresses are sophisticated, unique, and definitely more universally flattering (who doesn't love what a black dress does for their figure?).

Some black and grey dresses make a statement all their own, from a voluminous skirt that would be the envy of Scarlett O'Hara (above, right) to a delightfully weathered look (below).

Others are just darker versions of their fair contemporaries. These black lace dresses (above) would be right at home at any wedding if they were in ivory. But the black lace takes it to another level, doesn't it? I think these gowns would really shine at starlit evening receptions or a chilly winter affair.

Some of the most popular black and grey dresses are slinky, sexy, and fun. When all eyes are on you, what better to sashay down the aisle in than a long and sparkly sheath? This sequined starburst pattern in gunmetal gray (below) will make sure your dress sparkles almost as much as you do on your wedding day.

But my favorite type of black or gray wedding dresses are those that are timeless and sophisticated for any age. Whether you are getting married at 20 or 50, you can look resplendent in any of these. Especially beautiful is the art-deco inspired dress (above, right) and this Vera Wang ballgown (below), which could be easily be paired with a sweet topper.

Embodying classic elegance, these last two black dresses are so stylish you could wear them to events long after your wedding.
