The bride wore her mother's wedding dress, from Priscilla of Boston's original petite collection, "Teeny by Priscilla."

"My favorite moment, besides saying our vows, was having our little dog, our chihuahua, Gia, be a part of the day," shares the bride. "She was an excellent traveler and she did so well as the flower girl, although she slept through the ceremony! The fact that we got to share our day with her was so fun and memorable!"

Escort cards were pinned to a pink board for a simple, lovely display.

The groom is a health and wellness coach, and he created a fitting signature "cocktail": the non-alcoholic Mango Madness, a healthy (and yummy!) protein rich energy drink. The bride's signature coctkail was the "Salty Chihuahua" - pink grapefruit juice, orange liqueur and tequila - in honor of the flower girl dog.

The best advice Edwina received as a bride? " No matter what happens, be flexible and remain calm on your wedding day! It's not going to go exactly as planned, so go with the flow and you'll be much happier."

There were two flavors of wedding cake, red velvet and chocolate truffle. The groom's cake was lemon. "It was egg and gluten-free," says Edwina, "as some of our family members have food allergies. We wanted everyone to participate in having some wedding cake!"

Why did you choose this location for your wedding? My family lives in the Pacific Northwest, but Seattle was a destination wedding for 30% of the guest list (and for us as well - we live in Dallas, Texas). I really wanted our location to be near the water. Plus, my husband grew up in Dallas and hadn't really experienced the beautiful Puget Sound and Lake Union. July is the sunniest month of the year in Seattle, and a perfect month for guests to travel. The Yacht Club's hardwood floors, covered balcony and accessible dock was perfect for both the ceremony and reception, convenient for our guests, and also for my 94 year old grandfather who was able to fly in from Virginia to share our day with us.

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding? Everything that is vintage, classic, traditional and beautiful. I have a master's degree in Art History, so I wanted a timeless, beautiful look, but still make the day uniquely ours.

Did you include any traditions in your wedding? My dad was instrumental in planning the traditional aspects of our wedding. He planned and coordinated the father/daughter dance and gave a very thoughtful and humorous toast. According to tradition, I wore something borrowed, my mother's Priscilla of Boston wedding dress from 1969, something old, my grandmother's pearl earrings, and something blue - a blue ribbon attached to a tiny medallion from my maternal grandmother that was pinned inside my dress.

What advice do you have for other brides? Make the planning of your day your own! You can get lost in so many beautiful inspirational Pinterest boards and bridal blogs and forget about what you really want for your day. Focus on just three things you absolutely must have at your wedding and don't worry so much about the other things. You'll be less stressed. It's hard to balance everything, but above all trust the vendors you chose for your day - let their talents shine!

Do you have any budget tips for other brides? Again, figuring out what is really important to you and spending money on those things will make all the difference. There were some ways we were able to save - the ceremony and reception were in the same place, and we booked the venue early when they offered to waive the site fee if we booked by a certain date. Our venue was flexible in that we were able to provide all of our own alcohol as long as we paid the state liquor board permit, which was only $10. I didn't hire any transportation the day of, we just used our family cars - freshly washed and detailed. I wore my mother's wedding dress - which happened to be fabulous and vintage so I really lucked out! I found my shoes on 6pm.com for $31.99! I had a small bridal party -which meant fewer expenses and fewer people to coordinate. I also opted out of the popular trend of getting ready photos, so I could focus my amazing photographers attention and more hours on the event itself and the people I loved (instead of me in the mirror, freaking out, half dressed...)
