Lakeside Loving In Romania.

Drumroll please....

This afternoon folks sees the first Romanian wedding to appear on the glossy pages of Rock My Wedding. In fact, the gorgeous big day of Rebeca and Traian took place in the middle of Transylvanian mountains just down the road from Dracula Castle.

I know. Immense!

They put so much effort into planning their special day which I'd describe as contemporary with a beautiful outdoor religious ceremony but still with oodles of Romanian tradition. I love all the beautiful touches like the personalized wooden plates and the handmade swing with their initials.

Oh and you have to check out the sunset images by the lake as the stars came out; they're absolutely gorgeous.

Rebeca The Bride: I've dreamt about my wedding day my entire life and I was so excited when finally the day came and I could start planning it. I was determined to enjoy every single moment of it and not let stress and fear ruin this beautiful process and I really did enjoy it and even though I had a few moments close to panic, my fiance helped me overcome them. We wanted to do as much as we could ourselves so it wasn't easy, but it was fun and we learned so many things together.

One thing I really wanted and dreamed of, was an outdoor wedding. We started looking for a place and when we first saw it we both fell in love with it. I could already see myself getting married there, a beautiful place called Yaz, near Brasov, Romania. I was so excited, it was everything I dreamed of.

Traian was living in America and I was living in Romania so we only had a few days after he proposed to find the perfect venue together before he flew back to the United States.

We had to split our tasks because of the distance. In Romania I kept myself busy with the rest of the bookings while myy sweet fiancé in the US worked on some of the decorations we wanted. He made the invitations, cut and engraved the log slices we used to decorate the outdoor ceremony, he made the swing and customized it with our initials as well as filling the ropes with flowers found at HobbyLobby.com and together we made the laces for the jars we used as table centre pieces.

The dress was really important to me. I knew I wanted it to be a princess style dress but I also wanted it to be somewhat different and up to date. After just a couple of days of searching I knew I wouldn't find one that I would absolutely love, not in Romania at least. Instead I found this amazing wedding dress designer Romana Ghita-Urmanczy at Delicate salon and fell in love with her creations and together we put down ideas and created this dress with ruffles and feathers and beading inspired by some of the dresses I really liked on Pinterest and putting together the elements I loved most.

When it was finally made and I tried it on I thought my heart was going to explode. I didn't want to take it off not then, not ever. Even now I feel like I could wear it every day. My husband thinks I'm nuts, although he really loves the dress as well.

I didn't really think of a colour theme for the wedding but since we chose mint for the bridesmaid dresses I decided that my accessories should be mint as well. They were pretty simple as I thought the dress was already enough. I found my
shoes at Bershka, my bracelet at Stradivarius and my earrings on ebay and I loved them a lot.

For Traian we wanted a navy slim-fit suit and after long searches we found it at Zara along with the shoes. His button holes were custom made by Tesoro Jewellery who we found on Etsy and they were engraved with our initials. I knew nothing about them until the wedding day.

For the bridesmaids I wanted long ethereal dresses, but I also wanted them to be able to wear them again on another occasions so I asked them to choose the model (since I chose the colour) and each had it done at their own tailor. They all looked so pretty! For the groomsmen we decided on grey and we found their suits at Macy's. They matched the bridesmaids dresses just perfectly.

We were so blessed by Matt Penberthy Photography. Matt and Alexa flew all the way from London to be a part of our wedding. They captured all the best moments. I have no words to say what an amazingly great job they did. They were always there when something happened, they had so many great ideas and they didn't miss any details. They really gave us the most beautiful memories from the day. When I look at the photos now it's almost like I'm reliving every moment.

My makeup was done by my sweet friend Emi Nica. She knew I wanted something light and natural and she did it amazingly even though I almost cried on that morning scared that my fake eye lashes looked too fake. I ended up loving it.

My hair was done by our friend Savir Grec and it was perfect because I really like my hair on my shoulders but I also was in love with all the wedding up-dos I saw on Pinterest and he gave me both having it down wearing a crown flowers that looked like little stars and made me feel divine in the first part of the day and up for the evening party.

The place where we had the ceremony looked absolutely beautiful, it was surrounded by willows between two lakes and beautifully decorated by our friends. The ceremony itself filled my heart with so much joy I can't express it. It was a lovely sunny
day with gorgeous people rejoicing with us. An amazing celebration of love and devotion.

We had the party in a tent and it was loaded with fun and joy and laugher.
Our wedding day still excites me and I can say that it was truly the perfect way to start together this amazing journey called marriage. We are so blessed.
