What's better than planning your next vacation? Well, aside from actually being on vacation, we can't think of anything. Team MDC partnered with our friends at Jetsetter to discuss two very important topics: vacation and beauty essentials (making sure you pack the right glam supplies is nearly as important as deciding on the location itself, right?)

We interviewed Charlotte Steinway, editorial producer at Jetsetter, international travel extraordinaire and self-proclaimed dry shampoo connoisseur, to bring you her recommendations for your next vacation. We all need a break sometimes; sit back and close your eyes as you read the below - imagine yourself right there, beauty product in hand.

THE DESTINATION: NASHVILLE, TENNESSE

THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCT: Black eyeliner

There's a rock and roll undercurrent here to soak in. (Did we mention this is the city where Ke$ha grew up?) Don't forget to bring your black eye liner, and P.S., a little smudge never hurt anyone.

THE DESTINATION: TULUM, MEXICO

THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCT: Hair Oil

Here is a place to let loose and go natural. Lodgings are rustic so be ready to part ways with your blow dryer for a few days. Hair oil will help reduce the frizz and keep your hair hydrated after long days on the beach. It will also help with those pesky flyaways as Tulum gets windy at night.

THE DESTINATION: DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES

THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCT: Dry Shampoo

Party time! Dry shampoo will be your best friend as you transition from a pool day party (dare we say darty) to a night out. Charlotte told us the nightlife scene is really taking off here!

THE DESTINATION: CARTAGENA, COLOMBIA

THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCT: Coral Lipstick

You might as well blend in with the beautiful scenery - brightly colored buildings and delicious fresh juices at this beachside town. Color is everything here.


THE DESTINATION: CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCT: Waterproof mascara

Cape Town was named the World Design Capital of 2014. There is plenty to see and do here, but don't let the weather confuse you. During summer in the United States, it is winter in Cape Town and it can be windy and rainy. Keep it clean and simple with waterproof mascara.

THE DESTINATION: BLOCK ISLAND, RHODE ISLAND

THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCT: High SPF sunscreen

The sun is stronger than you think! Protect yourself with high SPF sunscreen for long days on the beach. Block Island has a ton of beaches open to the public as well as a very relaxed, fun vibe in the evening.

THE DESTINATION: ISTANBUL, TURKEY

THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCT: BB Cream With SPF

Makeup and clothing are a little more conservative here. Keep a clean, fresh face while protecting your skin with SPF as rooftops are the place to be, whether dining, drinking or socializing.


THE DESTINATION: SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO

THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCT: Pastel Nail Polish

Old San Juan is known for its beautiful, historic pastel buildings and is surrounded by absolutely beautiful beaches. Pick your favorite pastel shade to rock on your fingers and toes.

THE DESTINATION: PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA

THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCT: Moisturizer

Keep your favorite face and body moisturizers handy, because it is both extremely dry and hot in Palm Springs (we're talking 120 degrees hot). There's a lot going on here, and it's a fun getaway just a short drive out of L.A.

THE DESTINATION: PARIS, FRANCE

THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCT: Bobby Pins

That classic, simple beauty we know to be French! Women seem to always have their hair pulled away from their face or parted to the side using bobby pins to make even something simple look intricate and elegant. Paris never goes out of style.
