Stylish & Elegant Gold City Wedding

Stylish & Elegant Gold City Wedding

via

Sarah and Paul tied the knot on Saturday 5 October 2013 in a church ceremony followed by a reception at the Assembly Rooms in London. They had a vision of an elegant, fun and relaxed wedding which they achieved by the bucket load.

There was of course an abundance of style too, from Sarah's Reem Acra dress and Paul's Burberry suit to the pretty florals and statement letter lights. Ohh and be sure to keep an eye out for a super special second dance :-)

Thanks so very much to the amazing Source Images for sharing their images with us today.

THE PROPOSAL | Paul proposed in a beautiful old hotel in Painswick, Cotswolds. It was very blissed out weekend.

THE VISION | Fun, relaxed and elegant. We wanted our family and friends to have a great time - lots of good food, booze and dancing.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | We had nine months to plan the wedding.

THE VENUE | St Etheldreda's Church in Holborn followed by the Assembly Rooms in Hackney.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Reem Acra 'Eternity' dress, Vivienne Westwood Melissa ballet pumps, my cousin's veil and my other cousin's earrings. My dad gave me the pearl bracelet.

FINDING THE DRESS | It was the first dress I pinned!

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Burberry suit, Hilditch & Key shirt, Aquascutum tie, and Crockett & Jones shoes.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | 1 Corinthians (12:31-13.8) and I carry you in my heart by EE Cummings. The St Etheldreda's choir sung incredibly.

We also had a band play at the reception and the best wedding DJ ever from Wedding Smashers.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | I had seven beautiful bridesmaids and let them buy their own dresses for the day and they all had white rose corsages.

THE FLOWERS | By Nik at Grace & Thorn. I can't recommend her enough. Really creative and easy-going.

THE CAKE | The gold cake was show-stopping and delicious! It disappeared in no time. It was made by a friend and East End baker Lily Vanilli.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The ever professional Jordan & Ines Banks. Their photos are brilliant.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | We wanted the décor to be twinkly, elegant and with dashes of gold. We covered it in candles, fairylights and hired a big light-bulb 'love' sign. A gold confetti canon went off during the second dance.

THE HONEYMOON | We toured Morocco! Our first few nights were at El Fenn, Richard Branson's sister's riad which is incredible, calm, beautiful place in the middle of the bustling souks.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | So many!

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | When budgeting, decide what the top three things you want to spend money on. It can help you decide what matters most. Also don't be afraid to get your dress dirty!
