Hearts On Fire.

Hearts On Fire.

How about we all jet off this afternoon to revel in the big day of the gorgeous Hayley and Matt. These two decided to get together, get engaged and get married (not all at the same time I might add!) on the sweetest Greek island called Ios because it holds such a special place in their hearts.

They decided to do away with many wedding traditions in favour of creating a day that reflected them as a couple as well as making it an amazing experience for all their friends and family and I have to say that looking at the delicious photos it definitely made for the most wonderful 'I Do'.

I'm also very much liking Hayley's Enzoani frock and those wonderful peachy pink bridesmaid dresses - the perfect accompaniment to that scenic backdrop of blue skies and white beaches.

Yum!

Hayley The Bride: We have been together nearly 6 years; we met in our home town when we were out clubbing! I went to school with Matt's younger brother so was chatting to old school friends and then saw Matt. We became friends as we got on so well and we booked a trip to go island hopping in Greece for a month- we didn't know which islands, just decided when we got there.

When we were on the ferry from Paros to Ios we decided we should be a couple. The first beach we went on as a couple was a little nude beach called Kolitsani. An elderly Greek lady sent us there but didn't tell us it was a nudist beach! We loved it as it was so peaceful and not many people were there.

We went back to Ios for our 5 year anniversary and Matt proposed to me on that beach with no clothes on and down on one knee! I obviously said yes! He chose a beautiful "hearts on fire" platinum ring, it was absolutely perfect. Because Ios was such a special island to us we decided to get married there too.

We wanted a short engagement so decided to get married just ten months later, I made the invitations, favours and decorations myself. I love vintage looking things I went with lace and hessian for the theme.

When I tried my dress on I was with my younger sister and we both thought it was beautiful, I went back four times as well as trying on lots of other dresses but nothing compared to it. My dress was by Enzoani called Dakota. I bought it from Krystle Brides in Bath. Krystle and her team are amazing, I couldn't recommend them enough. Krystle made the whole experience for me perfect.

Matts suit was bespoke. We both went to City Tailors in Bath and chose the material and style and they made it from scratch. He looked amazing. My sisters who were my bridesmaids wore peach dresses made by a family friend called Lorraine. I didn't wear any shoes when we got married but then put some pretty flip flops on for the rest of the day and evening.

I wore my Granny's pearl necklace and some white gold earrings that matt bought me. I also wore 3 pearl bracelets which I made myself, I also made my sisters a pearl bracelet and necklace each.

We both like photography so getting a good photographer was very important to us. We googled "Greek wedding" and some fantastic photos came up of a couple that got married in Santorini, we looked who the photographer was and it was Anna Roussos. We just had to have her! And we are so pleased we did, she was amazing.

I have two sisters who I am very close to so chose them as my bridesmaids. Matt decided not to have a best man, he didn't want the fuss!

There are quite a few traditions in England, one of them being that you shouldn't spend the night together before the wedding, also to have a best man and a big cake! We broke all these traditions! We wanted to do it our way and not worry about how it should be!

The wedding took place on Tzamaria beach in Ios and the reception at the hotel we were all staying at, the Ios palace hotel, it was perfect, we had an amazing day and would love to do it all over again.
