Nothing says "glam" quite so well as an Art Deco affair. This time of year, these lavish weddings are very popular, especially on New Year's. So if you are planning holiday nuptials, consider the opulence of the 1920s to inspire your decor! As of late, this type of wedding is synonymous with "The Great Gatsby," and for good reason. Baz Luhrmann's fantastical journey into a fictional 1920s New York was full of the best of the era: gold detailing, magnum after magnum of champagne, and thoroughly glamorous fashion. We've rounded up a few Art Deco details to get you started!

For your invites, embrace gold or foiled accents. You should also employ one of the designs made popular during the 1920s, such as scallops (above), fans, or linear borders (below). Combined with an Art Deco font, it will let your guests know to expect an old-fashioned good time.

And you don't have to stick to black and white. This purple and gold place card (below) hits all the right notes. You can make most color combinations work with this theme, so long as you use some of the other design features already mentioned.

Because speaking of your dress, no part of an Art Deco wedding will be more fabulous than the fashion. Look for loads of beadwork in metallic shades of gold, silver, and copper. Drop waists and sheaths dominate the style, so leave that poufy ballgown for another gal.
