Top 5 Wedding Venues from Bride&Glory | BLOVED Blog

via

Hello you b.luscious people! It's me, Anna: friendly neighbourhood wedding planner and proud member of the b.team.

So this is me in a nutshell: Anna MacDougall, the gal behind bride&glory, event manager and wedding coordinator, lover of all things orange and retro expressions (you can't ever say yoo-hoo too much). I work with couples from all walks of life who have a few things in common: they know what they want their wedding day to look like, they may even be happy to plan most of it themselves but they do not want to have to handle the operational elements on the day itself. Cue me - your friendly on the day wedding coordinator (and not a tyrant with a clipboard).

It's almost impossible to narrow down my favourite wedding venues to just 5 so I thought I'd pick some examples that cover all kinds of styles, budgets and tastes.

Aynhoe Park

Spectacularly stylish eccentricity at its all time best. Strictly speaking, we shouldn't call Aynhoe a venue - that's far too 'pedestrian' for this breathtaking Palladian House and its incomparable collection of treasures, all of which can be yours for a few days (and yes, that includes your very own butler who, legend has it, makes one mean G&T).

London Transport Museum

You really don't have to be a train enthusiast to appreciate just how cool a venue the LTM is. It's hard to beat taking a stroll through the history of London's very own trams and buses, Lychee Martini in hand, and then sitting down for a luscious meal right in the middle of it all. And best of all - you don't have to share it with other visitors. So if unconventional floats your boat, this may well be the one for you.

Fetcham Park

Oh beautiful Fetcham - home to some of the most amazing murals I've ever seen in a non-museum-setting. Stunningly elegant for your ceremony and/or wedding breakfast during the day, Fetcham can transform itself into one rocking party space come dancing queen time. So if you're heading Surrey-way, it'd be simply silly to miss paying Fetcham a visit. Just don't blame me if you fall in love.

Trinity Buoy Wharf

This former buoy manufacturing site is my flavour of the month, and not just because I have a thing about the river and I like unusual spaces. It's simply perfect if you want a seriously cool blank canvas for your wedding day to make it 'all yours'. And not to forget, it's home to the most epic disco ball I've ever seen. TBW is 'properly' dry hire and there are no kitchen facilities to speak of but if you can overcome some of the logistical challenges, it's definitely worth a look.

Nether Winchendon House

Last but so NOT least, Nether Winchendon House is one venue that's very close to my heart. Whether you set-up a marquee somewhere in the sprawling grounds or use the beautifully converted Carriage Barn, you'll be guaranteed the best the quintessentially English countryside has to offer. What makes the house and its owners so extra-special is the way in which they truly care about their couples. If you go, say Hi to Georgianna for me - if you don't instantly love her, I'll eat my hat.

And if there's just one teeny tiny bit of advice I can give you when it comes to keeping your nerves when planning your wedding then it would be this: I completely understand how important all those details are for you - and there's nothing wrong with it. But in those moments when it all becomes a little too overwhelming, just take a deep breath and remember that the most important thing about your wedding day is the fact that you're promising to spend the rest of your life with the person you love, your best friend. Doesn't that make all the worrying about the right linens pale in significance?
